Ann Coulter = Leni Riefenstahl

Is Ann Coulter the “Leni Riefenstahl of the Right?”

Yes and no. Yes, Coulter is a propagandist in the order of Leni Riefenstahl.

No, she is not a propagandist for the Right. Coulter is a propagandist for herself.

Coulter-Riefenstahl

Astonishing parallels exist between Coulter and Riefenstahl.[1]

Coulter does with words what Riefenstahl did in film. Word images, colorful rhetoric, rhetorical artistry – all carefully crafted to convey an image, to promote a product: Ann Coulter.

Mitt Romney as Proxy

Coulter has been[2]and remains[3] – Mitt Romney’s biggest cheerleader.[4]

Mitt Romney is a proxy for Ann Coulter.

When Coulter lavishes praise on Romney and defends his devastating presidential run, Coulter is lavishing praise upon herself and defending herself from complicity in his defeat. Coulter cannot admit that Romney was a failure because she would be admitting that she failed.[5]

During the disastrous 2012 election, Coulter acted as propagandist extraordinaire for Romney, vilifying every one of his Republican rivals.[6]

Now, in 2015, even after Romney has stated that he will not run for President in 2016, Coulter continues to stump for Romney and continues to sabotage rival candidates who could seek the GOP nomination.[7]

Just yesterday, Coulter exclaimed, “I hate them all, except Scott Walker, and my only issue with Walker is … ‘Damn, I wish that were Romney up there.’”[8]

She added, “No [I won’t give up on Romney], because I was right!

Coulter contends, “unlike the mob aspect of the right wing, I actually read people’s positions and what they have done, and Romney was clearly the best we ever had.”

Even now, Coulter asserts, “He crushed Obama.” Huh?

Coulter made similar assertions last month, arguing, “[Romney] was better than Ronald Reagan.”[9] She claimed, “Romney [was] the most conservative candidate we’ve run since Ronald Reagan.”[10]

Coulter denounced “Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, all the alleged conservatives” who opposed Romney, and exclaimed, “My thought is that everyone should just listen to me because I do read.”

Coulter is a propagandist for herself, not for conservatives.

It’s All About Ann

Why this scorched earth policy against conservatives? Why sabotage the campaigns of every GOP candidate who can or will run in 2016, and promote a person who is not running?

Why does only Ann’s opinion count?[11]

It’s all about Ann.[12]

Pride propels Coulter’s propaganda.[13]

Coulter applies superlatives to Romney (“ideal,” “perfect,” “fantastic”) just as she does to herself and her own work. Here’s Coulter on her books:

Coulter boasted, “As noted in that great book that came out this week, If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans …”[14]

“I’m a massively successful bestselling author.”[15]

“It’s nine [best sellers] now. .. It does technically make it nine, I made number three the first week.”[16]

“I’m Ann Coulter, the author of NINE massive NYT Best sellers.”[17]

“By the way, it’s now ten best sellers.”[18]

Except, contrary to Coulter’s claims, her tenth book did not make the best-seller list. Even her publisher disputes Coulter’s claim.[19]

As for her next book, due out this June, Coulter said that the publisher should move up its publication date because, “The country needs this book. … this is the best one ever.”[20] She said, “I’ve just turned in the edits to my next book, which is fantastic.”[21]

How gauche! Praising her own books.

But, beyond her books, Coulter loves herself: “I’m always charming. … But I’m always right.”[22]

Consider also Coulter continuing grandiose claims,[23] “I’m not a Libertarian, though I’m more libertarian than most libertarians.”[24]

Coulter considers herself the best of the best,[25] and, unlike Limbaugh, Palin, and all of the other conservatives whose opinions she dismisses, at least she reads:

“My thought is that everyone should just listen to me because I do read.”[26]

Coulter, Simply Offensive

Polemicist Ann Coulter delights in being offensive, while claiming her words and jokes are inoffensive.

Yes, Coulter is confused.[1] Just as when she reiterated her nonsensical claim,[2]I’m not a Libertarian, though I’m more libertarian than most libertarians.”[3] Or when she insists,[4] “[Romney] was better than Ronald Reagan.” Coulter persists[5] in these[6] fantasies.[7]

But on to her offensive remarks!

Offensive

Coulter has gone on the offensive, accusing liberals and conservatives alike of being stupid (or some variation thereof). Her jokes have become worldly and her elimination rhetoric are expressions of her enmity for the Left.

Offensive

Coulter tweeted, “Only offensive word is ‘offensive.’” And regrets not “using ‘raghead’ enough.”

Ann, “raghead” thwarts productive dialogue and does not actually identify the enemy – Islamic jihadists – who actually wear a variety of clothing.

(Coulter has long been an advocate of racial profiling to combat religious extremists.)[8]

In a tweet, Coulter defended using “retarded:”

“Only offensive word is ‘offensive.’ RT@carlabercrombie @AnnCoulter: ‘…looks hilariously retarded…’ Stop that word!!!!!! It’s offensive.”

Idiot Conservatives

After Romney announced he would not run for President, Coulter said that “sane Americans” favor Romney and that those opposed to him have a “suicidal tendency” and do not “actually care about the country.”[9]

She called Gov. Perry a “moron,” and lambasted “Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, all the alleged conservatives” as “idiot conservatives.”

In a diatribe against the Right,[10] Coulter alluded to the Bush dynasty as “imbeciles,” claimed “Jeb Bush, is catnip to the stupidest influence-seekers,” and asserted “most half-wits masquerading as conservative spokesmen on TV simply repeated whatever Sarah Palin said.”

Idiot Liberals

Speaking at the Stevens Institute of Technology, Coulter castigated the Left.[11] Repeating a talking point from previous speeches, Coulter said, “Mollusks can learn from what is in front of them. Clearly, Democrats cannot.”

On Fox News, Coulter elatedly bashed Hillary:

“I think Hillary’s just really dumb. … I think we know which one the dumb one was now. This is so massively stupid what she did. … It’s so stupid … something that is so stupid … I think she’s dumb … But the real problem is, she is dumb. … it’s just one stupid political move, sticking her foot in her mouth, creating these huge problems.”[12]

Coulter never noticed the irony in her last statement, that she herself so often sticks both feet in her own mouth, “creating these huge problems” for herself.[13]

Dumb

In a series of tweets which she undoubtedly considered witty, Coulter exposed the foolishness of her heart.

In just five back-to-back tweets, Coulter called Hillary “corrupt,” “venal,” “stupid,” “DUMB,” “corrupt,” and “D-U-M-M” (misspelling in the original). Sniping at Bill, Coulter tweeted, “Hillary told Bill they needed a private server & all the thought was ‘blonde or brunette?’”

Displaying tastelessness, Coulter tweeted, “Hillary puts emails on private server AS SECY OF STATE. Bill turns ‘em over & they’re all @ penis extensions and Viagra. See the difference?”

Kill All of Them

Not content to assassinate the character of political leaders from the Clintons to Sarah Palin, Coulter expressed actual death wishes toward whole groups of people.

“All we’ll have to do is organize the death panels for the people who destroyed America, and map out whose graves will be desecrated.”[14]

“I would totally take the Chinese approach and kill them [liberals] all, so I don’t discard all of the Communists’ ideas.”[15]

“So next time I say, liberal use of nukes, daisy cutters, drones.”[16]

“I am now a pacifist in favor of the liberal use of nukes.”[17]

Coulter wants to be taken seriously. Indeed, she wants to pick the next president and determine the future of America.[18]

“My thought is that everyone should just listen to me.”[19]

Why?

Immigration More Dangerous Than ISIS

Forget ISIS! Ann Coulter proffers illegal aliens as the true evil of our times.

Coulter is reprising her xenophobia[1] from last summer when she published two back-to-back[2] diatribes[3] against soccer followed by two[4] back-to-back[5] polemics[6] assassinating the character of Christian missionaries.[7]

IllegalsISIS

In a speech just a few weeks ago, Coulter exposed her heart, exclaiming: “The common enemy are the Democrats! Haven’t I made that clear?”[8]

According to Coulter, America’s enemies are not ISIS, and it’s not really the immigrants themselves, but it’s the Democrats!

To be perfectly understood, Coulter then underscored her point: “I don’t even care about ISIS!”

Coulter’s Propagandistic Polemic

A few weeks ago, Coulter wrote a column[9] in which she dismissed ISIS as unimportant and targeted all immigrants in America as potential killers.[10] Indeed, her title alone is wrong in the particulars. ISIS is in America and illegal aliens have not invaded America with a purpose of killing.

Coulter began her column by accusing the media of conspiring to cover-up the truth:

“You can always tell the media are hiding something when they obsessively focus on Muslim atrocities someplace else in the world. Cable TV could cover Muslim atrocities 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from 632 A.D. to the end of time, without repeating themselves.”

Apparently, the recent and unprecedented savagery emanating from Islamic strongholds around the world in not newsworthy in Coulter’s eyes. Raping of women and children, beheading children, burning people alive. That must all be ignored to focus on what interests Ann.

Coulter repeated her claim regarding a media conspiracy on Hannity:

“For a month the Democrats have been filibustering to defend Obama’s amnesty, and every time I turn on TV it’s ISIS, ISIS, ISIS. Well, ISIS is going to have the rule of the roost because if this amnesty isn’t stopped Democrats just get 10 million more voters.”[11]

(Fox News, which covers ISIS far more than all the other networks, must therefore be part of Coulter’s grand conspiracy.)

In her fourth paragraph, Coulter drastically diminished the ISIS threat to America, claiming,

“ISIS has killed four Americans – in Syria. We’re not exactly talking about another 9/11. Here’s a tip: If you don’t want to be killed by ISIS, don’t go to Syria.”

Bogus tip. Americans have been killed in America and around the world by ISIS and its Islamic jihadist brothers and sisters.

Most of those tragic killings in America have been underreported by the media that Coulter claims is conspiring to saturate coverage. Many of those domestic terrorist attacks have been falsely identified as “workplace violence” or some other such nonsense. Moreover, the media purposefully whitewashes the Islamist nature of these crimes. Ironically, Hannity himself has covered many of these stories, so he should have seen through her fraud.

Next paragraph:

“Meanwhile, illegal aliens have killed, raped and maimed thousands of Americans – in America. …”

Sixth paragraph:

“Our politicians don’t care. They are obsessed with cleaning up the rest of the world, while we’re getting our clock cleaned at home.”

Next, Coulter made another one of her more asinine analogies, writing:

“Americans are at greater risk of being killed by Joran van der Sloot than by ISIS, since a lot more of us vacation in Aruba, as Natalee Holloway did, than in Syria.”

Actually, Americans are at no risk of being killed by Joran van der Sloot, who is in prison. Moreover, Americans have been killed by ISIS at home and abroad.

Berating the media for its “Soviet-style censorship about immigrant crime,” Coulter offered up several anecdotes for our edification. (See “Letter to the Editor” below.)

Following her anecdotes, Coulter proffered her Orwellian Big Lie:

“ISIS is not at our doorstep. Illegal immigrants are not only at our doorstep, but millions of them are already through the door, murdering far more Americans than ISIS ever will.” (See “ISIS IS in America” below.)

The once staunch neoconservative defender of wars in the national interest has turned isolationist, arguing, “Sometimes people don’t want to be cleaning up the rest of the world.” This mirrors Coulter’s crazy attacks last summer, charging Christian missionaries serving overseas with treason.[12]

Letter to the Editor

Pat Caley wrote a letter to the editor spotlighting Coulter’s flawed analysis of immigration.

“I suppose it’s naïve of me to expect honesty from Ann Coulter, but you would think that if her claim that

‘”illegal aliens have killed, raped and maimed thousands of Americans’ was true, she would be able to cite more than three examples in her recent column.”

Caley continued:

“Indeed, she attempts to describe seven instances where ‘illegal aliens’ committed horrific crimes, but four of them (more than half) didn’t actually involve undocumented aliens. While researching this I found that Coulter apparently cut and pasted parts of an article from a right-wing anti-immigration site that also provided no documentation for its claims.”

Caley continued:

“It seems the only thing they all had in common was their foreign-sounding names. Margarita Garabito is Puerto Rican, Bassel Saad is a legal Lebanese immigrant, and I could find no documentation anywhere that Ennio Avolio and Javier Mejia were here illegally.”

“Coulter’s attempt to lump all immigrants together – as well as Puerto Ricans who have been U.S. citizens since 1917, a bit of history Ms. Coulter is apparently unaware of – muddies the waters of the immigration debate in a most disgusting, racist manner, and neglects the vast majority of undocumented immigrants who live and work in the United States and contribute to society without breaking any laws.”

Caley concluded:

“Apparently, Coulter is unable to make her point without lying, which is a good reason readers should ignore her and The State Journal-Register should stop printing her drivel.”

ISIS and Genocide

ISIS engages in genocide wherever it gains a stronghold. ISIS is a primary villain in the global persecution of Christians by Islamists. Rev. Franklin Graham recently said, “The Christian community is being slaughtered by Muslims.”[13]

Christians are not the only victims of this barbarism. As reported in Front Page Magazine,

“Throughout the Islamosphere in Africa and the Middle East, men, women, and children have been subjected en masse to unspeakable acts of cruelty. Jihadists, while pillaging and burning homes and churches, have laid waste to whole communities. Families have been destroyed as husbands and fathers were bludgeoned, beheaded, and burned to death; wives and mothers raped, beaten, and starved; young boys forced to convert to Islam and take up arms on behalf of their captors; and young girls enslaved and sold off to become either wives to grown men or human missiles – i.e. suicide bombers.”

ISIS IS in America

Contrary to Coulter’s claims, ISIS and its Islamist brothers are already in America, seeking America’s destruction.

Nevertheless, Coulter dismisses Islamic jihadists already in America and countless terrorists attacks which have already taken place in America.[14] She ignores the gruesome beheading of American citizens in America[15] by Islamic fanatics who deliberately target Americans for death.

Just arrested, Julissa Magdalena Maradiaga-Iscoa, an avowed Islamist, described herself as a “martyr” on her Facebook page.

All jihadists ultimately seek the destruction of America. But Coulter claims that Americans are endangered by all legal and illegal immigrants. She uses apocalyptic language of people who have come to America to be a part of America, but doesn’t care about the millions of Islamic jihadists who want to destroy America out of hatred for her.

Coulter cites the homicidal acts of a few legal immigrants and illegal aliens as if they are normative, but dismisses the brutal and savage actions of Islamic jihadists despite those acts being representative of all Islamic terrorists.

According to Right Wing News, ISIS is Inside the United States. It’s lead paragraph conveys the urgency of this Islamist threat:

“While in Mississippi for a local law enforcement conference, FBI Director James Comey said that the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq is already in the U.S. and actively plotting to kill Americans. Comey’s statement came as Americans sat horrified watching the news that ISIS had burned alive a Jordanian pilot.

The FBI, said Comey, has open cases against possible ISIS terrorists in every state of the Union except Alaska. The biggest threat could be individuals, or ‘troubled souls’ as Comey called them, training in their basements to fulfill the ISIS mission to ‘just kill somebody.’ The target may be any average American.”

The Heritage Foundation’s Ernest Istook reports, “the FBI’s February 2015 testimony confirms that over 3,000 Americans and other Westerners have been trained by ISIS and returned home. And that we’ve lost track of most of them.”

Dawn Perlmutter recently reported on the existence of the Islamic State in America.

In her report, Perlmutter confirmed that the FBI has “open cases looking into individuals who may be connected to ISIS in every state in the Union except Alaska. Evidence of the Islamic State’s successful recruiting efforts in America is literally written on the walls. Islamic State graffiti has appeared in Minneapolis, MN, Houston, TX, La Vegas, Nevada, Phoenix, AZ, Bakersfield, Ca, Washington, DC, Brooklyn, NY, and in many cities around the world. Followers of the U.S. designated terrorist group are showing their support in every form of graffiti from full color pieces to the graffiti genre of stickers; aka labels or slaps.”

Perlmutter’s reports, “There is no misinterpreting the graffiti stickers of the black ISIS flag that are being plastered all over the Southwest including Texas, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico. … ISIS graffiti [also] appeared in prominent areas throughout Northwest Washington, D.C. The most frequently displayed message read ‘Allahu Akbar’ (Allah is Greatest) in Arabic, and underneath in English Letters ISIS.”

Perlmutter concluded (emphasis added):

“Islamic State graffiti should be interpreted in the same manner as any other gang graffiti. Significantly graffiti is often the first indication that street gangs are active in your community. It is used to glorify the gang, mark territory, demonstrate the gangs power and status, create a sense of intimidation and fear, and for individual gang members to show association and allegiance. When gang units document Bloods, Crips, MS13, Latin Kings and other gang graffiti they do not attribute it to stupid kids, they understand that it reflects gang activity and the inherent violence associated with it. When graffiti in Brooklyn, New York reads ‘ISIS is here’ we better believe it.

Whither Coulter?

After 9/11, Coulter treated all Muslims as if they were terrorists, just as she treats all liberals as if they were traitors.[16] Now, she is treating all immigrants as if they are a homicidal maniacs.

How can someone so smart and so knowledgeable, be so foolish and so deceptive?

Ann’s narcissism[17] makes Coulter utterly untrustworthy.[18]

Update: House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul revealed that “we have the foreign fighters. There are about 30,000 of them, 5,000 with Western passports. According to the DNI, Clapper, 180 have returned or gone to the region. And we have a — a number that I can’t disclose publicly.”

McCaul warned, “They’re here in the United States. So the foreign fighters, in addition to that, the homegrown violent extremists who can be inspired and radicalized over the Internet is what greatly concerns me – to inspire them to attack our military in the United States. And I think, unfortunately, it would be not so difficult to pull off.”

Indeed, Islamists are seeking to establish sharia law in America.

Recently, “Two female New York City ISIS sympathizers have been arrested on charges that they were building what court papers referred to as ‘a weapon of mass destruction’ to unleash on the city’s residents.”

ISIS is so widespread in America that one state is known as “The Islamic State of Minnesota.”

Update: The recent jihadist attack in Garland, Texas – in opposition to a Draw Mohammed Contest – highlights Coulter’s myopia on this issue.

A partial list of jihadist attacks in America (2002-2009) can be found here.

The Heritage Foundation urges “major counterterrorism reforms” to counter the growing jihadist threat within the United States.

Ann Coulter – Smartest Person in the World

Last night, Coulter discussed the stupidity of Hillary Rodham Clinton, saying

“I think Hillary’s just really dumb. … it’s so stupid, it is such a self-inflicted wound … With her, it’s always – it’s just something that is so stupid.”[1]

Smartest

Actually, Ann, it’s more an ego thing.

Hillary shares your narcissism, your sense of entitlement, your sense that you can get away with anything.

Just last month, Coulter attacked prominent conservative leaders: “Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, all the alleged conservatives.”[2]

Coulter claimed that those people – Limbaugh, Palin, alleged conservatives – don’t read and don’t know what they are talking about, in contradistinction to Coulter, who boasted: “My thought is that everyone should just listen to me.”

But Coulter has always felt superior to most people, even to her peers and her colleagues.[3]

Coulter was born and bred an elite who came to believe her own press.[4]

Coulter Discovers RINOs will be … RINOs

Coulter was for Mitch McConnell before she was against Mitch McConnell. Coulter has favored RINOs for years and is “shocked, shocked” when they act like RINOs.[1]

DiscoversRINOs

For years, conservatives have warned Coulter about McConnell (just as they did with Romney).[2] Coulter never listens to anyone but herself.

Coulter Loves McConnell, Not Cruz

Two years ago, Coulter praised McConnell, calling him “the Ted Cruz on campaign finance reform … Mitch McConnell was so strong on that, was so brave, was attacked by the media, never backed down. And just one other point – he is leader of the Senate … he has to gather all the Republicans together.”[3]

Yet, Coulter opposes Cruz and insists we should not primary Republican candidates like McConnell. Coulter said, “We can’t get anything done unless we have a majority in the Senate. So stop blowing Senate races for Republicans. That’s a big lesson from this.”

For years, but especially since the 2012 election, Coulter has lambasted the Tea Party and insisted that we elect “Republicans” irrespective of their actual ideological purity.

But Coulter’s political playbook does not work,[4] as McConnell himself proves.

Coulter was so entranced with McConnell that she refused to acknowledge any negatives about him, prompting Glenn Beck to say, “I’m sorry, Ann, you’re out of your mind crazy if you think that Mitch McConnell had nothing to do … with a two billion dollar work project in his state.”[5]

Nevertheless, Coulter was ecstatic at the thought of a McConnell-Boehner dynamic duo courageously confronting Obama on key issues. As she told Hannity,

“If we have the Senate, too, with Mitch McConnell and John Boehner passing repeals of Obamacare and terrific things, the media won’t be able to keep maintaining its Republicans who are doing nothing but passing birth control laws. They will have to report on the bills that get passed out of both houses of Congress and our do-nothing president keeps vetoing. That will set up a presidential candidate very well for 2016. This is a very important election, please, Republicans.”[6]

Coulter’s Paean to McConnell

One year ago, Coulter wrote a paean to McConnell in which she called anti-establishment Tea Party conservatives a “mob” and insisted McConnell is not an establishment RINO.[7]

Coulter claimed, “For months and months, for example, I’ve been demanding facts – not shibboleths or epithets – from the anti-Mitch McConnell brigade.”

But Coulter has studiously, myopically, and willfully ignored the facts presented against McConnell.

Coulter asserted, “There are breathless headlines all over the Internet claiming, ‘McConnell Supports Amnesty!’ but when you click on them, the links don’t work and the claims don’t make sense.”

Except, of course, the senselessness was really coming from Coulter.

Coulter continued: “I know this from looking up McConnell’s actual voting record, as opposed to reading nonsensical jeremiads against McConnell on the RedState blog.”

Coulter mocked her opponents: “Here’s the counter-argument from the anti-McConnell crowd: HE’S A RINO! HE’S AN ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICAN! HE’S BEEN A TERRIBLE LEADER! MITCH LIED, KIDS DIED!”

Except, of course, the “anti-McConnell crowd” was right.

After an historic victory last November, the first thing McConnell promised was that there would be no government shutdown. Isn’t that like Obama taking off the table “boots on the ground” before negotiating with an enemy?

Likening the Tea Party to a mob, Coulter added: “Ladies and Gentlemen, there you have all the attributes of a mob: Slogans in lieu of logic and evidence, beliefs impenetrable by facts, emotional hatred of the ‘enemy’ and the acceptance of wild contradictions.”

But the Tea Party was correct. McConnell should have been primaried. Coulter has a habit of preferring RINOs to the Tea Party.

Coulter repeatedly tried to convince Hannity of her point of view, saying, “As I said on this program a few weeks ago, if you want to see who’s really going after the establishment, I wanna hear they’re going after someone who supports amnesty. … The only thing standing between us and amnesty right now is Mitch McConnell.”[8]

McConnell caved without a fight!

Coulter Knows Best!

Just a few weeks ago, Coulter again claimed to know what’s best for America.

Coulter’s pride and arrogance were on full display as she attacked prominent conservative leaders: “Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, all the alleged conservatives.”[9]

Coulter claimed that those people – Limbaugh, Palin, alleged conservatives – don’t read and don’t know what they are talking about, in contradistinction to Coulter, who boasted: “My thought is that everyone should just listen to me because I do read.”

In that interview, Coulter again compared Romney to Reagan,[10] as she has done since Romney’s disastrous defeat in 2012:

“Romney is the ferocious Terminator on immigration, but these idiot conservatives – because he looks good in a suit, he looks presidential, he got more of the white vote than Ronald Reagan did in 1980 – ‘no, we must hate him.’”

Yes, Coulter called Limbaugh, Palin, and the Tea Party “idiot conservatives.”

Coulter again reiterated her three-year-old political playbook:[11] vote Republican regardless of their ideology.

“There is a suicidal tendency on the part of some conservative activists – not you and me, we actually care about the country – which is to say, their idea of what constitutes a ‘true conservative’ means ‘anyone the big money people don’t like.’ So, if you don’t have a chance to be president, that’s the one that ends up getting anointed – the ‘true conservative.’”

Did you notice that those “idiot conservatives” – Limbaugh, Palin, Tea Party – also don’t “actually care about the country?”

Coulter continued her jaundiced view of the Tea Party, insisting, “Many conservatives determine who a ‘true’ conservative is by who is most likely to lose. That really proves your conservative bonafides.”

But wait, didn’t Romney lose?[12]

In settling for less than Romney, conservative powerhouse Ann Coulter expressed her confidence that she could “influence” a President Walker or President Cruz to follow her immigration prescription.

In the summer of 2014, Coulter demanded that Republicans obey her orders: “We can’t just abandon the field right now. You have to vote Republican, even for crap-ass Republicans, and I would name them but I’m not going to. You have to vote Republican.”[13]

Coulter commanded Republicans and Libertarians to resist primarying an incumbent (or establishment) Republican: “Why are we attacking Republicans right now? There are a lot of bad Republicans, there are no good Democrats. The country is in the balance. You have to vote Republican right now!”

But “crap-ass Republicans” – by definition – will not vote conservative.

And didn’t.

Coulter Sees RINOs will be RINOs (sort of)

Aghast at the Senate’s repeated capitulation to Obama’s amnesty actions, Coulter finally recognized McConnell’s cowardice, sort of. (To be fair, he is behaving as the establishment Republican he has always been.)

Coulter complained – of her courageous hero – that he had sold out to the media, saying:

“Mitch McConnell will get all kinds of dividends on this from editorials in the New York Times. They will be praising his bravery. It takes a lot of courage – takes lots of courage to betray your constituents, to break your promises in the interest of bipartisanship and that is what Mitch McConnell is going for. No, of course this is a total cave.”[14]

Coulter also penned a polemic attacking all of those “crap-ass Republicans” that she insisted we vote for.

Coulter wrote:

“Back when they needed our votes before the last election, Republicans were hairy-chested warriors, vowing to block Obama’s unconstitutional ‘executive amnesty’ – if only voters gave them a Senate majority. The resulting Republican landslide suggested some opposition to amnesty.”[15]

Coulter continued:

“Before the election, then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell complained that Obama’s decision to delay his executive amnesty until after the election was a ploy to prevent Americans from ‘hold(ing) his party accountable in the November elections.’”

Coulter continued:

“Now McConnell is Senate majority leader – and he claims his hands are tied.”

Coulter continued:

“If a Republican majority in both houses of Congress can’t stop Obama from issuing illegal immigrants Social Security cards and years of back welfare payments, there is no reason to vote Republican ever again.”

But wasn’t that the Tea Party’s point? If you elect RINOs, you get Republicans In Name Only.

But just last night, Coulter defended the GOP cave in on what she regards as an existential threat to America. She said, “I blame the media more than the Republicans.”[16]

What? We elected Republicans, not the media.

RINOs will always behave like RINOs! When will Coulter learn?

Update: McConnell keeps caving!

Coulter’s Ghastly Eulogy

True to form, Coulter politicized her eulogy for M. Stanton Evans.[1] Coulter turned the loss of a colleague she has known for two decades, someone she has suggested was a mentor, and used it to further her own personal and political agenda.

EvansEulogy

Coulter has a very long history of doing just that.[2]

Her lead paragraph quoted Evans on immigration, Coulter’s current cause célèbre.

Coulter then spends more time talking about Reagan, Romney,[3] immigration, and McCarthy than she does about the subject of her eulogy.

And, she throws in an attack on CPAC: “(This was back when CPAC mattered.)”[4]

Remember, CPAC was integral to Evans’ life, yet Coulter churlishly and vindictively attacked his institutional love.

Coulter remains insistent that Romney can win the presidency, again comparing him to Reagan:

“Reagan ran for president a third time, won the presidency and saved the country.” (Coulter noted that Evans was wrong to reject Reagan!)

Lest we fail to grasp her advocacy for Romney, she added:

“(One thing you must always remember, right-wingers: Never run the same guy for president three times. Look how that turned out!)”

Of course, Evans’ defense of Joseph McCarthy lavished attention on Coulter, who mentioned:

“Stan gave me a few teaser documents for my book Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism,[5] which liberals denounced on the grounds that I wore short skirts and also that it was insufficiently ‘scholarly.’”

Lengthy sections on Reagan, Romney, and Coulter’s pet issues, but scant mention of Evans’ life, work, and legacy.

Coulter concluded: “Two weeks ago, he told me not to give up. And neither should you, America.”[6]

Perhaps it’s time we gave up on Ann.

Coulter Stumps for Romney – Again!

Ann Coulter is seemingly the only person in America who still considers Mitt Romney[1] the “perfect,”[2]ideal,”[3] and “fantastic[4] GOP presidential candidate for 2016.

So much so, that she still stumps for him even though he has said that he won’t run again.

Stumps

So much so, that she attacks all of the other potential presidential candidates – even though Romney is not running. (If we won’t play by her rules, she’ll just destroy the game board.)

Upon hearing that Romney was determined not to run for president in 2016, Coulter penned a diatribe – “Three Generations of Imbeciles Are Enough”[5] – to attack all non-Romney GOP candidates!

Coulter trashed the entire GOP presidential field to support Romney – who is not running! Why? To vindicate her love affair with Romney and his defeat in 2012?

(The “imbeciles” in Coulter’s title are the Bush’s – George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Jeb Bush. Never mind that it is only two generations, she nevertheless regards them all as imbeciles. But, wait, didn’t she defend Dubya for over a decade of liberal charges that he was stupid?)[6]

Coulter blames the GOP for pushing Romney “out of the presidential race – temporarily, I hope.”

(No one pushed Romney out. No one wanted Romney in.)

Her lead sentence – “It’s good to see conservatives have gotten back to letting The New York Times choose their nominees for them.” – makes no sense. The American people – in poll after poll – rejected Romney.

In her polemic, Coulter compares the Bushes to the Three Stooges: “Then, Shemp Bush will declare and knock Jeb out of the running, only to be replaced by Zeppo Bush.”

But her analogy goes off the rails. Shemp was the brother of Moe and Curly Howard. Zeppo was the brother of Groucho and Cheeko Marx.

(Next, Ann will confuse Romney with Reagan. Oh, that’s right, she already has.)

The list of Republicans Coulter trashes is long: Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, Rick Perry, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, and Sarah Palin.

And, as she did in her last book, Coulter blames conservatives for seeking a genuinely conservative candidate for President.[7]

According to Coulter:

“But instead of familiarizing themselves with the facts, most half-wits masquerading as conservative spokesmen on TV simply repeated whatever Sarah Palin said, and she believed whatever Sheldon Adelson said. Which was: Romney’s not a real conservative! The only real conservatives are the ones who don’t want to separate plutocrats from their servants! – oops, I mean, children from their grandmothers!

Coulter – unlike most conservatives – still regards Romney as “a real conservative.” [8] And she will demonize all those who disagree with her. [9]

In an amazing interview with Joyce Kaufmann (2/2/15), Coulter berated “Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, all the alleged conservatives,” and insisted, “with Mitt Romney we had someone who could win, who will win again.”

Coulter claimed, “They lost the best candidate they ever had with Romney. I think they’ll call him back by acclamation.”

Update: Following Scott Walker’s announced policy position on illegal immigration, Coulter expressed her approval, yet – again – said Romney would be even better! She exclaimed, “YES! Fantastic, amazing, just what I’ve been waiting for! Romney, of course, said exactly this and also endorsed E-Verify and a fence on the border.”
