Mass Deportation is on the Table

Immigration expert Mark Krikorian told the Drive at Five (8/22/16) that mass deportation will never happen; it is ineffective and impractical. Krikorian added, “No restrictionist favors [mass deportation].”

Mass Deportation is on the Table

This is nonsense!

Krikorian apparently forget about his friend and fellow restrictionist, Ann Coulter, whose book – Adios, America!he himself lauded. Coulter has been a long-time advocate for mass deportation or, as she likes to put it, a modern-day version of Eisenhower’s Operation Wetback. (Yes, she relishes using the derogatory term.)

Even GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has considered mass deportation a viable option.

Last October, Coulter tweeted, “I’m warming to ‘mass deportation and a wall’!

Just a month ago, Coulter said, “Self-deportation was good. Mass deportation and the (Trump-proposed border) wall are better.”

Ann Coulter Pence-ive

With Conservatism and the American Dream on the precipice of disaster, will Ann Coulter choose to save herself or America? Will she continue to place pride above principles[1] or, in an abrupt about face, to actually do the right thing.

Pence-ive

Donald Trump’s selection of pro-immigration Gov. Mike Pence (IN) as his running mate places Coulter in a predicament, especially since her primary (if not sole) reason for supporting Trump is what she perceives as his strong stand against immigration.

For over a year,[2] Coulter has insisted – promised, vowed – that Donald Trump[3] is the only one we can trust to build a wall and stop immigration.[4]

Early this May, Coulter astonishingly claimed: “I’m bitter and cynical enough on immigration that I don’t trust anyone not to betray us. But if there was ever a candidate we could believe will build a wall and stop the mass importation of the Third World, it’s Trump.”[5]

But Trump has already proven that his immigration policy is malleable in order to reach consensus with the establishment. His pledge for a wall and deportation of illegal aliens are merely starting points for negotiation and will be retracted for expediency and making deals with Congress.

Even as Trump spoke of being flexible and willing to negotiate a grand deal (“comprehensive immigration reform” anyone?), Coulter continued to extol his virtues (as invisible as they might be) while besmirching all his detractors as corrupt or crazy[6]all the while opposing the one conservative candidate with a proven record on immigration – Ted Cruz.[7]

Aghast at the very thought of Trump choosing Pence for vice president, Coulter erupted with a tirade.[8]

For a fleeting moment, I hoped that she would see through Trump’s flimflam and realize that he will never fulfill her dreams. Immigration remains the single issue that matters most to her, yet she continues – to this day – to support Trump, the one candidate who has proven himself untrustworthy on this (and every other) issue.[9]

Will Coulter now abandon her commitment to a border wall and a moratorium on immigration – national policies she claims are essential to saving America as we know it – merely to salvage her pride and sell more books?

If Coulter has any integrity at all, she will denounce Trump, support a delegate revolt at the GOP Convention, and endorse Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), the only conceivable candidate who could both defeat Hillary this November and, once in office, be trusted to follow the Constitution and to make preservation of national sovereignty and American identity a top priority.

It will take more than integrity for Coulter to do the right thing. It will also take incredible courage – courage to admit that she was wrong about Trump[10] and that she lied about Cruz.[11]

Will Coulter place her own pride above the best interests of this nation (and the world), continuing to do what she has always done by taking the path of least resistance?[12]

Or will Ann do what she knows in her heart is the right thing to do? Will she trust in God, seek His will, and do it?

Ann regards Trump as her Savior.[13] If she would look to her real Savior – Jesus Christ[14] – then she could be filled with courage to do the right thing.[15] Will she?

(Have a little faith, Ann.)

Coulter, Orlando & Nonsense

Blunders galore!

In the wake of the horrific Islamic terrorist attack in Orlando, Ann Coulter has, once again, gone off the rails. In doing so, she further endangers every American, resident, and visitor in the United States.

Orlando

Coulter denies the identity of the terrorist, wrongly claims that her solution would completely eliminate terrorism in the United States, and willfully neglects the actual and would-be terrorists currently living in our nation’s homeland.

Misidentifies the Terrorist

Coulter used very slippery phrasing in her column yesterday[1] to assert that the Islamic terrorist who committed such an horrific act in Orlando was not an American citizen (even though he was!). She insists, like Trump, that he was an Afghan.

Coulter quoted Trump: “The killer was an Afghan, of Afghan parents, who immigrated to the United States.” She then chastised the media for correctly citing what Trump had actually said.

Ironically, the theme of Coulter’s column is that the media puts words into Trump’s mouth, misrepresenting what he says. Here, she did just that with Katie Tur. She wrote: “Immediately after Trump’s speech, MSNBC’s Katie Tur ‘fact-checked’ Trump, announcing that he had incorrectly said Omar was ‘born in Afghan.’”

But Kur did not say “born in Afghan.” Kur accurately reported what Trump had said about “the shooter being born an ‘Afghan’” (“an” not “in”).

Coulter continued to attack Kur for what she did not say: “What did Tur think this meant? ‘Afghan’ isn’t a country. Didn’t she pause for a moment and realize that what she thought he said makes no sense?”

Ironically, Coulter, herself a journalist, then added, “Journalists with their outsized sense of importance say, No, no, that’s not what I heard. It says in my notes right here, you said, ‘blue carrots for Eisenhower.’ I stand by my notes.”

Just two days earlier, Coulter maintained, “He’s an Afghani!”[2] Afghani or Afghan? Afghan is more accurate to identify people from Afghanistan; Afghani is usually used as an adjective, not a noun.

In her column,[3] Coulter returned to attacking the Washington Post for writing, “The shooter was born in Queens to parents who emigrated from Afghanistan.” That Post quote is absolutely, factually correct! Coulter disapproves. (Why? Because it is accurate!)

Her soliloquy continued with (probably largely accurate) assertions that the media prefer to identify perpetrators of atrocities as “Americans” and emphasize ethnicity in benign or uplifting stories.

Coulter then got to her main point: the media was wrong and Trump was right. Except, she’s wrong about that, too. Coulter falsely claimed that the Washington Post admitted its error with its headline, “Orlando gunman said he carried out attack to get ‘Americans to stop bombing his country,’ witness says.”

The Post made no admission of error. Coulter’s probable rationale: If he was out to get Americans, he couldn’t be American. Poppycock!

Denying the obvious – that a 29-year-old American committed this atrocity – refutes Coulter’s contention that all we need to do to prevent future terrorist attacks is to stop immigration. (Yes! Omar Mateen had lived in America for almost three decades!)

On the Eric Metaxas Show,[4] an enraged Coulter rejected his American citizenship – and his birth certificate – charging: “No! He’s an Afghani! His parents were immigrants.”

Ipso facto, stop immigration and you stop terrorism.

Stop Immigrants, Not Terrorists!

Coulter has been saying this for years.[5]

Coulter continued: “He wouldn’t have been here. None of the terrorists who have committed any of the terrorist attacks, starting with 9/11, would have been in this country but for Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 immigration act.”

Again, that’s not true.

Kennedy is Coulter’s favorite bogeyman. During her interview, Coulter specifically included the Boston Marathon bombers, who were political asylees, who would have been eligible under the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. Moreover, since 1965, Congress has passed numerous laws and acts regarding immigrants and refugees. Nevertheless, Coulter always reverts back to 1965 to fit the thesis of her last book, even though immigration law has been radically revised since then.

How about the 9/11 hijackers? One entered the U.S. on a student visa, the remainder on tourist or business visas. None of them were immigrants!

Coulter then prescribed a three-part solution to end mass shootings and terrorist attacks: 1) arm citizens, 2) treat the mentally ill, and 3) stop immigration by Muslims. The centerpiece of her plan: “not importing Muslims – that’s how you shut all of this down.”[6] As it happens, I agree with all three aspects of her plan but not her conclusion.

A ban on all Muslims would not end the jihadist threat in America.

This has been a major flaw in Coulter’s elaborate plan to save America from itself. A moratorium on all immigration – which is her favorite proposal – would do absolutely nothing to address the jihadist threat currently entrenched in America. Under Coulter’s plan, American citizens who have lived in America for decades and been radicalized to jihad would remain in America.

Coulter sees the external, but not the internal, threat. Denying the internal threat prevents us from appropriately countering it.

Instead of dealing aggressively with this internal existential threat, Coulter has consistently and continuously opposed those who seek to do so. She has denied the threat even exists,[7] insisted that Americans need to fear Mexicans more than Islamists,[8] and is horrified at the extent of media coverage given to ISIS.[9]

Coulter demands: “Forget the terrorism.”[10] For Coulter, it’s all about immigration and nothing else.[11]

Coulter refuses to call Islamic terrorists who are American “American” and she is loath to use the term “terrorist” for acts of terror committed in America. She even referred to the Boston Marathon bombers as “murderers”[12] instead of terrorists.

Formerly the foremost neoconservative, Coulter now eschews the military intervention necessary to prevent the radicalization of potential jihadists and American citizens already living here in America. Victory on the battlefield would spell  defeat for recruitment in the homeland.

Coulter will not fight ISIS either at home or abroad. Coulter wants to prevent ISIS from getting here, but they’re already here.

While the Left reflexively demands gun control to stop mass shootings and acts of terror,[13] Coulter’s matrix looks almost exclusively to immigration.

Both miss the point. Islamists seek the destruction of America because of their Islamist beliefs and they are already here![14] Any strategy to defeat the enemy must acknowledge this reality and oppose them over there and over here.

Coulter Hates What She Isn’t and Who She Is

Since the 1990s, Ann Coulter has expressed her hatred[1] for individuals and entire groups of people.[2] Moreover, she has called hatred a patriotic duty.[3]

Not surprisingly, Coulter hates those who are not like her.[4] She hates, in others words, what she isn’t.

Coulter Hates Self

But Coulter also hates who she is.[5]  Indeed, Coulter hates what she isn’t because of who she is.

Let’s look at who and what Coulter hates and see how, in reality, she hates herself.

Coulter Hates Conservatives

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a conservative? Coulter claims, “I’m like the conservative ayatollah.”[6] And, “I really do need to be the ayatollah of this [conservative] movement.”[7] (Do conservatives even have ayatollahs?)

Joe Newby, at the Conservative Firing Line, made a strikingly accurate observation (emphasis added): “But more to the point, [Coulter] has ripped the mask off and revealed that underneath, she truly hates conservatives, especially those who disagree with her – and she’s not beneath throwing them all under the bus.”

Notice, Coulter hates conservatives who disagree with her.[8] Part of her shtick is that she is always right, never wrong. When Coulter-generated controversies inevitably arise, she attacks and reviles those who hold her accountable for her words and actions.[9]

Moreover, Coulter often has an agenda which is distinct from, and in opposition to, conservative principles. Consequently, Coulter vilifies those principled conservatives who oppose her.[10]

Coulter Hates Christians

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a Christian? Coulter claims: “I’m an extraordinarily good Christian.”[11]

Despite her claims of fealty to Christ, Coulter has attacked Christians for most of the past two decades.[12]

Coulter calls Christian missionaries “fake Christians,”[13] attacks Christians who are godly and promote godliness,[14] and opposes attempts to stop Christian genocide occurring overseas.[15]

Coulter even, with professed “blind worship,” champions a godless liberal as her “Savior.”[16] (Just a decade ago, Coulter pilloried everyone she regarded as godless liberals in her appropriately named book, Godless.  Now, pillories are passé and crosses are chic.)

Coulter Hates Pro-Lifers

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a pro-lifer? Coulter claims to be: “I am totally pro-life.”[17]

Contrary to her assertion, Coulter passionately attacks conservatives and Christians for pursuing a pro-life agenda.

As far back as the late 1990s, Coulter began attacking pro-lifers for purely political purposes.[18] Coulter blames pro-life “putzes” for Republican election defeats – because they pursue a pro-life agenda.

Coulter disparages pro-lifers as morons and cowards[19] for simply seeking to defund Planned Parenthood![20] She calls them “pathetic,” “weak-kneed” “sissies” and “pussies” trying “to prove their toughness by being pro-life.” Perhaps they are actually principled pro-lifers.

In reality, Coulter would have pro-lifers do nothing and let the unborn fend for themselves![21]

Coulter Hates Herself

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a narcissist? Yes![22] (Who knew?)

Even narcissists can experience self-doubt. More than that, two decades of compromising principles and behaving deceitfully[23] have taken their toll. In time, liars tend to believe their own lies. But each lie conflicts with a previous one until discerning the truth becomes like grasping the wind.

Coulter went from espousing principled positions[24] to behaving contrary to those very same principles. Confronted with her hypocrisy, she entered into a prolonged and deep denial[25] from which she has yet to recover. She eventually gave up trying to do the right thing.

The “mass of contradictions” in her life quickly snowballed out of control. In time, Coulter – all the while claiming she has never changed – dramatically changed her positions and views on almost everything.[26]

Consequently, huge swaths of the conservative movement, Christians, pro-lifers, libertarians, and the like now shun Coulter.[27] They will continue to do so until Coulter gets her act together. Even then, she will have to earn their trust.

Right now, Coulter is extremely confused, caught up in a mishmash of conflicting and confusing visions of herself[28]her self-identity[29] – and a worldview which has become warped from years of lies, treachery, and deceit.[30]

I suspect that Ann never really believed in the Christian ideals and conservative principles she espoused. Indeed, she was not the “true believer” everyone believed her to be. Rather, she adopted those ideals and principles from her parents, whom she loved. Her father died in 2008; her mother in 2009. Since then, Ann’s moral and spiritual compass no longer exists. Ann is being tossed to and fro by the pragmatism of the moment and the passing whims of her heart.

Coulter hates conservatives, Christians, and pro-lifers for being what they are because she once believed she belonged in those categories. Now, whenever these people of principle act on their principles, she is put to shame as a charlatan. They expose Coulter for who she really is – a fraud.

Will Ann always be a fraud? Only God knows and only He can bring meaning and direction to her life. Unless and until Ann courageously faces the reality of who she has become and fights the good fight of faith to become the person God has called her to be, she will always be filled with hate and fear.

May God grant Ann repentance and transform her heart.

Coulter Logic (she wants candidate who won’t pursue her agenda)

Ann Coulter displays her superior logic as no one else can. She wants a candidate to pursue her immigration agenda (pro-wall, anti-amnesty) and is dead set against the one candidate who has proven he would follow that agenda.

Coulter Logic

Instead, she worships[1] a charlatan whom she admits is a liar and fraud[2] – and “mental[3] to boot. One, in fact, whose policies would be opposed to her wishes.

Go figure!

Coulter says that immigration is all the matters,[4] that we need to build a wall and oppose amnesty. But she also claims that Donald Trump – who actually favors amnesty and a big door in his wall[5] – is the best candidate, indeed, the only candidate who can do what she wants done.

Moreover, Coulter adamantly opposes – and continually lies about – Ted Cruz,[6] who has been consistently opposed to amnesty and has actually attempted to build a wall.[7]

Coulter, who admits that Trump is a liar and fraud,[8], seems to believe that Trump will build a wall and stop immigration, when, in fact, Trump has consistently been inconsistent and flexible[9] on both of those issues (as he is on all issues). (Does Ann believe in fairy dust, too?)

Yet, Coulter continually[10] defames[11] the one candidate,[12] Ted Cruz,[13] who has a record of trying to do what Coulter wants done.[14]

It’s no wonder that Coulter has gone mental over a candidate she herself has called mental.

Why Would Coulter Do This?

First, Coulter is delusional,[15] holding a very warped self-image.[16] Back in the late 1990s,[17] one of her colleagues observed that she displays a “mass of contradictions.” Once regarded as a far-right conservative, Coulter has lately fervently supported RINO candidates, from Christie, to Romney,[18] and, now, Trump.[19] She loves wealthy, Northeastern elites.[20]

Second, Coulter’s priorities have radically changed throughout this century. Now, she eschews conservative and Christian principles and values for something more pragmatic. Now, she opposes constitutional conservatives and pro-lifers[21] in favor of a libertine liberal[22] whose nomination would give Democrats the White House,[23] and, perhaps even Congress.

Moreover, Coulter has placed self-interest ahead of her country and her God. Trump’s candidacy, conjoined with Coulter’s book tour, was a boon to her career. Speeches and book signing at Trump rallies certainly helped. The media, contrary to Coulter’s claims,[24] has lavished attention on her.

But, Coulter has so intertwined her own career, reputation, and credibility with a Trump victory that she can’t escape culpability for his many sins. What she should do is repudiate him, but her vanity[25] and impenitent spirit will not allow it.

If she had known then what she knows now, would Coulter have pursued a different course? We will never know. For now, she is stuck with her foolish and bullheaded choices. Will she repent and try to salvage what’s left of her reputation, or obstinately stick with her arrogant tomfoolery? (My guess: the latter.)

Already, Coulter has lost an incredible degree of credibility and, in many circles, is largely irrelevant.[26] Many people who once held her in esteem will never trust her again.[27] Coulter’s penchant for prevarication and propaganda[28] over facts and truth has alienated her from huge swaths of conservatives, Christians, and patriots.

Coulter’s future rests in how she tackles the moral and spiritual dilemma she currently faces. In the meantime, Coulter cannot be trusted. (And neither can Trump!)

Playing the victim yet again,[1] Coulter recently claimed, “Try to find me on TV. I’m what’s known as a Trump supporter. Banned.”

Banned For Trump

Coulter banned for supporting Trump? Is Coulter’s claim true? Will you believe your own eyes or believe Coulter’s lies?

Another LOL Moment

Trump supporters are all over the airwaves. Trump is all over the airwaves. In fact, Trump has already received over $2 billion of free publicity this election cycle.

What about Fox News, Coulter’s former home base (she has appeared on that network at least 450 times)?

Fox News has given Trump tons of favorable coverage and bent-over-backwards to defend him. In fact, Fox just aired a one-hour, prime-time special for Trump last night (On the Record) and will air another one-hour, prime-time special with Trump on Hannity tonight, immediately preceding the crucial Wisconsin primary to be held tomorrow.

So, why hasn’t Coulter appeared on Fox News since September 17, 2015? Is it, as she claims, because she is a Trump supporter? Obviously not.

Asked in January if she had been banned by Fox News, Coulter insisted, “No, I’m boycotting them! I’ve joined the Trump boycott!”[2]

What Trump boycott? As of January 26, 2016, Donald Trump had already appeared on Fox News and Fox Business News 132 times[3] – far more than any other candidate. That number has undoubtedly skyrocketed since then. (See also Steve Deace’s analysis at “Trump’s Cancer Spreads to Fox News.”)

The Real Reason for Coulter’s “Ban”

If Coulter has been banned from Fox News (the only network she really cares about), it is not because she is Trump’s biggest supporter and consigliere.[4] Rather, Coulter’s own behavior and obnoxious views have precipitated a sharp decline in the attention which would normally be lavished upon her.

The tipping point occurred in mid-September when she first attacked Jews, then Catholics.

Coulter’s infamous rant against Jews[5] cost her both speaking engagements and television appearances.[6] She had been slated as a presenter for both Media Research Center’s Dishonors Awards and David Horowitz’s Restoration Weekend. She was discretely disinvited from both of those prestigious events.

Coulter’s phony excuses[7] failed to convince critics and fans alike. On the heels of her anti-Semitic tirade, Coulter went on an anti-Catholic rant, the first of several to come. Coulter repeatedly attacks Catholics[8] for being Catholic. She just won’t stop.

Playing the victim, Coulter is nevertheless the victimizer.[9] Vanity hinders her repentance,[10] something she has always been loath to do. Until she does, she should be shunned. In the meantime, she is desperately in need of your prayers.[11]

Update: “A new report confirms that five television networks cut a deal with Donald Trump that has effectively turned their coverage over to the Republican frontrunner and turned the networks into Trump propaganda arms.”

As of this writing (4/13/16), “Trump has appeared on Hannity an astonishing 41 times since he announced his campaign last June, often for the entire hour.”

Ann Coulter’s Upside Down World

Erstwhile ultra-conservative Ann Coulter now worships faux conservative Donald Trump as her Savior and claims genuine conservatives are traitors. (It used to be she called liberals traitors; now it’s conservatives!)

Upside Down World

An avowed pro-lifer, Coulter has berated and defamed pro-lifers for nearly two decades.

A fierce opponent of Obamacare, now Coulter is ready to embrace Trumpcare.

Once an advocate for federalism and limited government, Coulter now shills for a statist who would wield his own pen and a phone.

A self-proclaimed constitutional attorney, Coulter defames the only constitutionalist running for president while championing the only “Republican” running against the Constitution.

A virulent anti-immigration, anti-amnesty activist, Coulter defends Trump who did and does support amnesty. This is Coulter’s signature issue – her obsession – and she backs someone who unquestionably supports amnesty while she continually thinks he doesn’t.

Coulter is lost in her own little world into which she won’t allow reality to enter.

Who is really surprised? Coulter has been supporting RINOs and spouting propaganda for years. Now she has gone incredibly far over the edge, losing more and more credibility.

Will the real Ann Coulter please stand up!
