@AnnCoulter’s Bush Derangement Syndrome

Self-described polemicist Ann Coulter is well known for embracing elimination rhetoric. She equally enjoys mocking the recently deceased and those grieving their loss.

Barbara Bush Funeral

2018 would prove no exception to the Coulter Ghastly Eulogy Rule. Coulter’s tongue-in-cheek tweet must have sliced into the hearts of the bereaved who knew of her hatred for them.

George Herbert Walker Bush Funeral

With the passing of President George H.W. Bush, Coulter kicked her Defaming the Dead and Bereaved Shtick into high gear without a moment’s hesitation.

Coulter deliberately and maliciously published her weekly column early to taint George H.W. Bush’s public funeral at the National Cathedral. She sought to coincide her smear job as closely as possible with the funeral services.

In her column, Coulter totally disparaged the accomplishments and character of a true American war hero, public servant, and an honorable, God-fearing family man.

Instead, she claimed that the Willie Horton ad was “the one thing Bush got right in his entire public career.”

In addition to a very flawed reading of the man and his presidency, Coulter got one crucial detail totally wrong: Bush did not produce the Horton ad; rather, it was the product of the National Security PAC, which, by law, was not allowed to coordinate its activities with a particular candidate.

Again, the central core point of Coulter’s columnBush’s greatest 30 seconds of his public lifewas totally wrong.

One of Bush’s most striking accomplishments was his nomination of Justice Thomas to the Supreme Court!

Coulter’s close friend, Greg Gutfeld, had this to say:

“When you thought of Mr. [George H.W.] Bush, what did you most think about? Patriotism, duty, family, faith. Isn’t that the stuff that is openly mocked today by pop culture, the media, academia? … Yet, this week, those were the things that mattered!”[1]

Well, apparently not to Coulter.

Coulter’s column (in lieu of an actual eulogy) totally misrepresented the man, his character, and his presidency. Coulter claimed that Bush’s finest moment was the 30-second Willie Horton ad that, in fact, Bush had nothing to do with.

Rather than enumerate his many accomplishments over a lifetime of public service (beginning as an American war hero), Coulter denigrated him at every opportunity.

Bush was her political foe (on her issues) and, therefore, an evil person.

Coulter even managed to get a dig in for both the McCain and Bush families. (Classy!)

This is how most Americans remember George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush.

American Thinker offered thoughtful reflections:

“In Bush’s funeral this week we remembered how long we have endured this wasteland of character.”

Continuing (emphasis added):

“Perhaps the strongest note of wistful longing in Bush’s funeral was the lifelong example of a leader who lived by a set of transcendent values.  Honor, friendship, loyalty, honesty – Americans have always believed that these immaterial attributes were the basis of a good life.”

Common human decency and honor continue to elude Coulter. Perhaps that’s why so many people regard her as heartless.

Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged provides an in-depth, detailed analysis in this holistic exposé of how and why Coulter has become the polemicist whom people either love or hate.

Joker addresses the physical, mental, emotional, psychological, familial, sexual, and spiritual dimensions which have shaped the Ann Coulter that we know today and it highlights both the positives and the negatives of Coulter’s life and career.

Coulter’s Messianic Complex

From almost the beginning of Donald Trump’s campaign, Ann Coulter has treated him as the Savior of America, and of even the world.[1] She regards him as “America’s savior”[2] “who’s going to save America.”[3]

Coulter’s Messianic Complex

Of Trump, Coulter gushed: “my hero, our Savior, the man who’s going to save my world.”[4] Asked to describe her actual relationship with Trump, Coulter replied, “Blind worship.”

Coulter warns, “America is the most consequential nation on Earth … If America falls, it will be a thousand years of darkness for the entire planet.” A Trump defeat would mean “it is lights out for the entire world for a thousand years!”[5]

In Coulter’s eyes, the source of America’s (and the world’s) salvation is not God but Donald Trump – and Ann Coulter!

Coulter frequently couches her views in terms of God blessing America through Trump – and through Coulter herself since the thesis of her book, Adios, America!, creates and permeates Trump’s immigration and foreign policy.

Headline: “The woman who tells Donald Trump what to think.” Coulter boasts of being the brains behind the Trump campaign. Her idol worship is obvious as she crows, “I’ve been doing nothing but watching Trump on TV. I wish there was a Trump channel where you could just watch him 24 hours a day. I’d never sleep.”

But she is more than an idol worshipper; Coulter is Trump’s consigliere. In Adios, America!, Coulter claims: “I’ve detailed everything he’s saying. He gives the campaign speeches on it. My book is the footnotes.”[6]

On Newsmax Prime, Coulter reiterated a sentiment she has often expressed: “Thank God [Trump] read Adios, America! I feel like one of those insects that give birth and then can go off and die.”

(Does anyone believe Ann is going to go quietly into the night and die having given birth to the Trump Phenomenon?)

As reported in The Times: “For his sake, she says, she has been prepared to wreck her career. While he campaigned in the primaries, she followed him from state to state, appearing on local talk radio shows. She met with Trump and told him: ‘I’m the only one losing money trying to get you in the White House, you’re going to listen to me.’”

Except, Coulter has sacrificed nothing for either Trump or her country. She loves every moment of being in the limelight, of being one election away from close ties to the White House, of publishing yet another bestselling book, of saving America according to her plan.

Coulter has always seen herself as the ultimate power-broker, whether in local, state, or national elections. Continuing her modus operandi from the 2000,[7] 2004, 2008[8] and 2012[9][10] election cycles, Coulter championed her man and defamed his opponents. Coulter did so this election cycle, supporting Mitt Romney,[11] until Trump appeared on the scene.[12]

Now, Coulter declares Trump the perfect candidate and her current Savior. Therefore, if America’s Savior is Donald Trump it is only because of Coulter, thus, Coulter is also America’s Savior.

Coulter remains seated at the left hand of Trump dispensing the wrath of her Savior.

Ann Coulter’s Flights of Fantasy

Given her frequent flights of fantasy, one wonders why anyone listens to Ann Coulter.

Recently, Coulter insisted that she could arrange a détente which would yield her Dream Ticket: Trump-Romney.[1] Simply delusional. Since then, Coulter has been spiraling downward.[2]

Fantasy

Coulter has redefined terms, such as “real American,” traitor,” and “patriot,” spoken of vast conspiracies, and displayed paranoia.

Employing a variety of Orwellian techniques, Coulter has become a propagandist who is no longer able to discern fact from fantasy.

Real Americans!

Yesterday, Stephen Nemo made some absurd claims. His introductory paragraph asserted: “Ann Coulter is hated by Democrats, but she’s also a pariah among Republicans. Why? She still believes in conservatism and the rule of law.”

Nemo has drunk the Coulter-aid.

In truth, Coulter abandoned Conservatism[3] and Christianity[4] many years ago. As for the rule of law, why is she constantly lying about it? Coulter continues to lie about Supreme Court[5] cases[6] in order to influence national politics.

The person Coulter said she blindly worships as her Savior,[7] The Donald, is not a conservative![8] Moreover, Trump cares about what is best for Trump,[9] not for America.

As evidence for his claim of Coulter’s fidelity to conservatism and the rule of law, Nemo quoted a recent Coulter column: “Conservative pundits keep assuring clueless [television] viewers that Trump is not a ‘real Republican.’”

Nemo omitted these words from her essay: “I certainly hope he’s not a ‘real Republican.’” Nemo did, however, continue with her next words: “I know he’s a real American. Those used to be the same thing.”

In other words, “real Republicans” are no longer “real Americans.”

For decades, Coulter has defined who “real Americans” are per her own malleable standards. As I noted last September,[10] Coulter was wrong then and she is wrong now!

Coulter defines not only who Americans are but she also pinpoints where the traitors can be found.

Treason Without Reason

Displaying both hyperbole and paranoia on steroids, Coulter tweeted (emphasis added): “Fox News & Cruz are American traitors, in league with the liberal establishment. Silent majority must face fire from a unified oligarchy.”[11]

American Thinker provided the Cruz quote which prompted “Coulter foaming at the mouth.” After condemning the violence at Trump’s rally in Chicago, Cruz said, “when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discourse.”

American Thinker correctly observed: “Never mind that the ‘unified oligarchy’ Coulter decries is a unified oligarchy elected by the American people; the main point is that every word, every syllable, every letter of the above quote is absolutely and verifiably true.” (He then provided a surfeit of details.)

Upon hearing of Rubio’s epic defeat in his home state of Florida, Coulter again furthered her treason motif, tweeting (emphasis added), “Media’s favorite line tonight: Rubio lost because he was too optimistic. Yeah, the whole treason thing had nothing to do with it.”[12]

In 2003, Coulter declared as traitors everyone who disagreed with even just one item of the GOP platform. To her, all Democrats and liberals were guilty of treason. Now, Coulter calls Republicans, conservatives, and Christians[13] “traitors” for disagreeing with her on one single issue: immigration.

Back then, the entirety of the Left were treasonous in Coulter’s eyes. Now, a huge swath on the Right have joined their ranks. Oh, and, by the way, Coulter’s definition of “treason” is not a legal one, but an elastic one dependent upon her own personal whim. Moreover, Coulter misuses the term for its effect as emotional vernacular to bypass reason and facts.

Propaganda With Paranoia

A gifted linguist, Coulter is, indeed, adept at propaganda. She knows how to manipulate language to manipulate people. Orwell’s Newspeak and doublethink could have been designed just for her.[14]

Since the release of her latest book, Coulter’s commentary has been replete with errors[15] and outright fabrications. Who knew that the Great Depression “was the most prosperous period in American history?”[16]

One particular tweet required a great deal of chutzpah to publish (as well as a certain disdain for her readership). Gloating over Trump’s Florida victory, Coulter tweeted (emphasis added), “To beat Rubio, Trump had to beat: Fox, entire MSM, National Review, Salem Radio, every major GOP donor…MAYBE VOTERS WANT LESS IMMIGRATION!”[17]

The entire tweet in all of its particulars is incorrect. Coulter consistently claims a conspiracy among political and media elites to foil Trump’s candidacy. According to Coulter, Fox News is part of that grand conspiracy.

Fox News? Matt Walsh recently exposed her lies on this, writing, “All the other dull, blathering Trump sycophants on Fox News, like Andrea Tantaros and Eric Bolling and Kimberly Guilfoyle and other various Trump shills who’ve now taken to declaring that ‘principles don’t matter.’ The Fox morning show team hands airtime to Trump whenever he demands it, and they sit in admiration listening to him blabber on like infatuated school boys pretending to be interested in what the pretty girl in class is saying. But they’re of course not as bad as Joe Scarborough over on MSNBC, who was recently caught on camera taking instructions from Trump about what questions he can ask.”

Walsh continued: “Trump and his groupies complain that Fox is ‘unfair’ to him, but those of us who haven’t had our brains cooked by Trump fever recognize that, with the exceptions of Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, Greg Gutfeld and a few others, the entire network slobbers over him like a cheerleader fainting when the varsity quarterback asks her to the prom.”

As of January 26, 2016, Donald Trump had already appeared on Fox News and Fox Business News 132 times[18] – far more than any other candidate. That number has undoubtedly skyrocketed since then.

Entire MSM? The mainstream media is hardly a monolith and it has provided more coverage of Trump than any other candidate in any other election in history. It covers Trump rallies and speeches, often without commentary, while overlooking other candidates. Trump gets air time whenever he wants it. Also, Trump has bullied many media outlets into acquiescence.

The Media Research Center frequently notes the disparate coverage afforded Trump at the expense of his opponents, even in GOP debates. Most recently, Breitbart, known as Trump’s personal Pravda, has come under fire for covering up Trump scandals and betraying its reporters and readers.

The Sun Times reported that the media “gave Trump $400 million worth of free coverage in just one month’s time.” In total, Trump has received about $2 billion in free air time.

Back in 1999, Coulter was incensed at any publicity that Sen. John McCain received during his 2000 election campaign. Coulter asked of McCain, “Courageous, independent, or bought?” and accused him of “shilling [for] the newspaper industry in return for favors worth millions of dollars in campaign donations.”[19]

Is Trump shilling now?

National Review? National Review is one of the few media outlets actually opposed to Trump, not out of treasonous hatred for America but, rather, with fervor for journalistic integrity, the Constitution, liberty, conservatism, and the rule of law. (Yes, conservatism and the rule of law, Mr. Nemo.)

While the “entire MSM” has failed to focus on Trump’s moral and business failings, National Review put together “a comprehensive roundup of the man’s disastrous [business] record.”

Salem Radio? Salem Radio is hardly part of a Vast Left and Right Wing Conspiracy. Sadly, many Christian leaders have actually jumped aboard the Trump bandwagon, seemingly willing to abandon both biblical and conservative principles for the elevation of someone they regard as a protector of their rights and freedoms. However, Trump is merely a bloviating bully[20] with disdain for the Constitution and he would govern with his own version of Obama’s pen and a phone.[21]

Every Major GOP Donor? GOP donors were hardly united against Trump. Many funded attacks against Cruz, Trump’s biggest rival.

Immigration? Immigration – Trump’s (and Coulter’s) signature issue – regularly places around fourth in exit polling, demonstrating that Coulter is wrong about the reason for Trump’s success thus far. Voters are outraged, want change, and are looking for a strongman to forcefully reverse the course our government is presently on.

Ironically, Coulter’s zealous devotion to Trump is itself predicated on a lie. Coulter insists that Trump is the best candidate on her core issue – immigration – yet, Trump has proven himself a fraud on immigration.[22] Trump admits he is flexible on immigration and he actually promotes amnesty (“touchback deportation”). To ensure a Trump victory, Coulter has repeatedly[23] lied[24] about Ted Cruz,[25] the one candidate who has a proven record of defending the border and preserving our national sovereignty.

Coulter Lies About Supreme Court Case

Ann Coulter leads the charge of those seeking to crush a Cruz candidacy with a lie!

When she thought she could foist Romney on us again in 2016,[1] Coulter began to attack Cruz on his citizenship. With Cruz posing a serious threat to Trump, her new-found soul-mate,[2] Coulter has shifted into high gear, stridently claiming Cruz is ineligible to be president.[3]

Supreme Court Case

This isn’t Coulter’s first attempt at subverting the Constitution for political purposes.[4]

Backdrop: Elián González

The Elián González case became international political theater during the 2000 presidential race. It rekindled the Cold War in miniature. Coulter fed into that political hysteria by telling lies of her own, lies which fit into her own ideological sensibilities. Those lies included turning a Supreme Court decision on its head, claiming it said the exact opposite of what the Court decided.[5]

The heart and core of Coulter’s case for denying Juan Miguel González custody of his own son rested on Coulter’s decades-long belief that fathers have absolutely no rights or responsibilities to their own children except through marriage.

On talk TV – contrary to what the law actually says – Coulter continually insisted that putative fathers have no rights to their children: “The law used to account for these things by saying the father doesn’t have rights to a child unless he’s married to the mother. That’s how a man can claim his heritage and his claims on a child. … That’s how a father gets the right to children, by being married to the mother.”[6]

Coulter reaffirmed – again and again – that only marriage confers custodial rights: “First of all, the idea that a father has rights to a child by donating sperm; No! A father gains rights to a child by being married to the mother. … He has absolutely no rights to the child! Fathers gain rights to children by marrying the mothers.”[7]

The only problem with Coulter’s claims is that they are false. The law has always upheld the biological rights of fathers, irrespective of whether the child is born out-of-wedlock.

Lying About Supreme Court Cases

Coulter’s view of parental rights was her principal argument to separate a son from his father, but that core point of her position, that central concept, was an outright lie! To buttress that lie – which she has consistently expressed for almost twenty years – Coulter lied about a Supreme Court ruling which any layman can read and see that reaches the exact opposite conclusion. Coulter wrote:

“Let’s just consider the initial presumption that a father gets custody of his son. The law is indeed clear, at least to this extent: That ‘law’ refers only to legitimate children. … The Supreme Court last weighed in on the legal rights of unwed fathers in 1989 when it cut off all of the father’s rights to his child, including visitation.”[8]

In her essay, Coulter literally reversed the decision of the Court, falsely claiming it denied those custodial rights. Contrary to Coulter’s fiery opinion, the law says otherwise. The Supreme Court, in five cases, upheld the principle of paternity rights for putative fathers. Those cases were all cited in the Supreme Court case cited by Coulter.

In a rather remarkable display of truth twisting, Coulter took this Supreme Court case which affirms the custody rights of natural fathers and declared it the definitive denial of those rights![9]

The father in Coulter’s cited case was not denied parental rights due to illegitimacy but because his claim of fatherhood was filed after the filing deadline. That father had failed to assert his rights within two years of his daughter’s birth. Illegitimacy was never the issue. The Supreme Court has consistently confirmed custodial rights of natural fathers, both in principle and in practice. So, the case Coulter cited says the exact opposite of what Coulter claimed.

“Bald assertions about the very question under dispute,” Coulter once wrote, “is an odd method of argument,”[10] yet that is precisely what Coulter did (and continues to do). According to Coulter, “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion; everyone is not entitled to his own facts.”[11] Apparently Coulter is not above making up her own “facts.”

Strangely (or not, for Ann), Coulter recently asserted, “Apparently that’s the way constitutional analysis goes these days. You determine, we’re all Ruth Bader Ginsburg now: Whatever you want the Constitution to say, that’s what it says, miraculously. Well, that has never been me!”[12]

Sorry, Ann, but you are the allegedly “conservative”[13] Ruth Bader Ginsburg!

Coulter Wants to Destroy GOP

Ann Coulter wants to destroy the GOP (and, ultimately, America, in the process).[1]

Donald Trump is Coulter’s current Savior[2] – and America’s, too. So says Ann.

Destroy GOP

For many election cycles, Coulter has promoted RINO candidates and vilified conservative ones. For several years, she has insisted that we always vote R regardless of any questionable conservative credentials of the candidate.

Coulter has defamed the Tea Party,[3] pro-lifers,[4] and Christians[5] – all to promote her RINO of the day.

Coulter has even joyfully contemplated the demise of the Republican Party – all out of pique over its failure to be transformed into her image. (Ironically, Coulter has promoted many candidates who, like her, are unprincipled.)

Now, Coulter insists that we preempt the nominating process in order to coronate her candidate. Her most recent column title says it all: “It’s Time for the Other 13 Candidates to Drop Out.”[6] (My column, “Coulter Hates All GOP Candidates But Trump,”[7] was posted the day before hers.)

Coulter has always regarded herself as a king-maker[8] and has been ever-willing to circumvent the electoral process.[9]

Destroying GOP

Let’s be clear here: Coulter wants to destroy the GOP over immigration using Trump as her weapon.

With whom would she replace the GOP? The Tea Party she has attacked for several election cycles? The genuine conservatives she has trashed in pursuit of her own agenda? Her dwindling fan base?

A gloating Coulter opined, “it’s apparently considered a devastating attack for Republicans to go on Fox News and say, ‘He’s not a real Republican.’ Well, OK, half the country is say, ‘Oh, he’s not? Fantastic!’ … I think this is an incredibly important election year. This could be the end of the Republican Party. It could go the way of the Whigs.”[10]

And again, “With Donald Trump, I think we may be seeing the breakup, ironically, of the Republican Party, like something we haven’t seen since the Republicans broke away from the Whigs.”[11]

As Jamie Weinstein noted, “If [Trump] won it would be the death of the conservative movement.”[12]

Coulter seems to cherish the thought. Why? During Tuesday’s debate, Coulter tweeted: “Audience so stacked with RNC toadies!!!!! I’m surrounded by America’s enemies!”[13]

Coulter has already vilified every Republican candidate (save Trump), saying she hates them.[14] Coulter claims that all of the GOP candidates (save Trump) are awful, embarrassing, and unpatriotic.[15]

What to do with a party you hate, with candidates you regard as America’s enemies? Coulter’s answer: Destroy them!

Time after time, Coulter has stated her goal of destruction, saying, “All we’ll have to do is organize the death panels for the people who destroyed America, and map out whose graves will be desecrated.”[16]

Again, “No, I’m just not getting to the point that I think the only the only thing left for us to do is death squads.”[17]

Again, “Now it’s time to call out the death squads.”[18]

Again, “OK, now it’s time to call out the death squads.”[19]

Coulter’s warning before the 2014 election: “We’ll vote one more time for Republicans. You screw us on immigration, we are done. At that point, there’s no point to anything except organizing the death squads.”[20]

What If?

What if Coulter had backed staunchly conservative candidates[21] instead of her “magnificent” RINOs? (All Republicans, like pundits, are not equal.)

What if Coulter had insisted on principles over pragmatism? (Unscrupulous people don’t have principles.)

What if Coulter has been true to her espoused core beliefs instead of trading them in for a fantasy? (The only thing Coulter seems to believe in is herself.)

What if, instead of vilifying true conservatives, she had kept her mouth shut? (That would truly be a miracle.)

Perhaps we would then have a Republican Congress and White House which abides by the Constitution and pursues a conservative vision for America.

Update:

Writing immediately after Super Tuesday, Liam Donovan contends (emphasis added):

“But whatever divisiveness a contested convention might bring, whatever fissures within the party it might deepen, there would be nothing more destructive to the GOP than a Trump nomination. If anything, taking this to the convention and fighting until the bitter end is a necessary battle for the soul of the party of Lincoln and the movement it has come to be associated with. There can be no catharsis unless the resistance is fierce.”

In the context of this column, one main point is that we have not nominated and elected enough genuine conservatives as Republicans. At the moment, the only political party with a conservative orientation is the GOP. Coulter has nothing with which to replace it.

Coulter Hates All GOP Candidates But Trump

In yet another series of bizarre radio interviews, Ann Coulter expressed her utter contempt for the entire GOP presidential field (with the singular exception of Donald Trump).

HatesGOP

During her rapid-fire rant on the Eric Metaxas Show,[1] Coulter boasted that upon Trump’s nomination she began “dedicating the next 18 months of my life to making sure he becomes the next president.”

Why interview a partisan shill for one candidate about all of the other candidates? What’s the point? How can Coulter’s views be considered valid when she has dedicated herself to ensuring that Trump wins? Especially given her exceedingly long history of lying for those she supports and defaming those she opposes?

Continuing her modus operandi from the 2000,[2] 2004, 2008[3] and 2012[4][5] election cycles, Coulter championed her man and defamed his opponents. Coulter did so this election cycle, supporting Mitt Romney,[6] until Trump appeared on the scene.[7]

On Eric Metaxas Show (11/11/15)

On her friend, Eric Metaxas’ show, Coulter made a demonstrably false claim: “[Trump’s] always been a Republican his whole life.”[8] She went on to say: “I’m proud of my country; I hate these candidates. I think they are awful. They are embarrassing. They are led by the RNC. They do not care about Americans.”

That’s right: All of the GOP candidates (save Trump) are awful, embarrassing, and unpatriotic.

Coulter again, and frequently, lambasted Carly Fiorina[9] (as she has in the past),[10] complaining, “Carly got an applause line. I hate applause lines.” (Now, that’s funny! Doesn’t Coulter live for applause lines?) Coulter continued with her looksist attacks, charging, “She’s a sourpuss. She is. She never smiles.” On another program, Coulter reiterated her complaint: “She’s a sourpuss. … her little Nurse Ratched face.”[11]

As for Ted Cruz, “He’s not a natural born citizen.”[12] Another lie![13] Surprisingly, her friend did not correct her.

Oh, and Coulter wants Jeb Bush to continue his campaign so that he can “attack Ricky Ricardo.”[14] (But, in the summer, Coulter was positive that, barring a Trump victory, either Bush or Rubio would get the nomination.)[15]

Coulter is so confusing because she, herself, is confused.[16]

On Eric Metaxas Show (10/22/15)

On a previous Eric Metaxas Show,[17] Coulter asserted, “I think any Republican – other than Trump – would be a disaster [for America].”

Again, according to Coulter, all of the GOP candidates (save Trump) “would be a disaster [for America].”

Why would they all be a disaster? Because, according to Coulter, they are wrong on immigration. Coulter said:

“The shortcut [to determining whether someone is smart] is ‘Where do you stand on immigration?’ It’s the litmus test of our day. It tells you how bright someone is. It tells you whether they care about the country. It separates the mice from the men.”

Metaxas responded with “Wow!”

Shockingly, Coulter recently admitted, “I’m not even sure I trust Trump to do the right thing on immigration.”[18]

If that is true, then why demonize every other Republican? Because, Trump is Coulter’s kind of elite.[19]

Hates All Republican Candidates (Except Trump)

Coulter condemns every GOP candidate who is not The Donald. “All these eunuchs running in the presidential race against Donald Trump.”[20] Coulter ridicules them all. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Coulter denounced “the various Bushes – George, Jeb, Shemp, Zeppo – are trying to turn America into Mexico.”[21]

Remember: Coulter was George W. Bush’s biggest supporter for almost eight years; now he is the butt of her jokes. Was she right then, or is she right now?

Coulter openly professes to be a very-biased Trump advocate: “I’m a super-fan [of Trump].”[22]

If that is true (and Coulter boasts that it is), then why do people interview her about Trump and the other candidates? They know she is a partisan hack and a shill for Trump. They know her history of propagandistic commentary (as noted above), that she will say and do anything to give victory to her candidate. So why have her on at all?

Do ratings really matter more than having an honest discussion with people who will eschew ad hominem attacks and cite real facts instead of fabrications?

If Coulter is the best they can do, then we are doomed.

Coulter – An Elite’s Elite

The Ann Coulter I’ve known for the better part of two decades is an elite’s elite. Coulter is an elite. Coulter loves elites. In fact, Coulter depends upon them.

Elite

Born and bred an elite,[1] Coulter graduated from high school, in the most prosperous county in America, wanting the “crème to rise to the top.” Coulter, through networking with her elite friends and colleagues, rose to the top. Those very same friends and colleagues – elites one and all – salvaged her career multiple times during many of her most outrageous controversies.

A multi-millionaire herself (many times over), Coulter’s best friends are millionaires and billionaires.

Coulter’s Dream Ticket

This Thanksgiving Eve, Coulter appeared on the Sean Hannity Show. Her friend, Mark Simone (acting as guest host) was literally speechless.

For the umpteenth time, Coulter proffered her Dream Team presidential ticket: Trump[2]Romney![3] Coulter eagerly exclaimed, “I want Trump/Romney.[4] That is an unbeatable ticket.”[5]

Taken aback, Simone said that would never happen, then broached the enmity between the two candidates.

Coulter replied: “Look, they both hate one another right now. It would be like staging the Peace of Westphalia to bring them together. But I am up to the job.”

“I am up to the job.”

Silence from Simone.

Truly delusional,[6] Coulter really thinks that she can reshape reality into her utopian ideal. Coulter – and Coulter alone – can orchestrate events to save America. Has Coulter always been this crazy or is it simply a part of her emotional, intellectual, and spiritual devolution?

But that was not the first time Coulter made that delusional claim. She told her friend, Eric Metaxas, “Well, it will take a lot of careful negotiation on my part [to get a Trump-Romney ticket] since they both seem to hate one another, but it’s a dynamite combo platter.”[7]

Since her continual defamation of innocent Christians[8] can’t stop them from pursuing God’s will,[9] it would behoove Coulter to rethink her alleged power to change the hearts of these two powerful elites. (Would she also broker peace between Ahmadinejad and Netanyahu?)

Power Broker Extraordinaire

Ann Coulter has always seen herself as the ultimate power-broker, whether in local, state, or national elections.

In 2000, Coulter attempted to run a totally sham campaign for Congress[10] simply to oust a sitting Republican who had voted against impeachment.

Coulter coronated George W. Bush as President in 1999[11] – long before anyone knew what his platform would be. She selected Bush based solely on his huge war chest.

Coulter wanted Romney for President as early as 2008[12] (Coulter: “I supported Romney back in 2008”)[13] because she viewed him as a wealthy patrician who looked presidential and, since then, she has rationalized away his non-conservative credentials.

Now, Coulter wants Trump,[14] even though he has demonstrated for over two decades that he is not a conservative.

Coulter has no faith in conservatism and consistently chooses pragmatism over principle. Hence her proclivity to promote non-conservative candidates in the guise of winning elections. Coulter is a RINO-lover par excellence.[15]

After McCain’s debacle in 2008, Coulter told Rush Limbaugh and others privately, and Sean Hannity’s radio audience publicly, that she (Ann Coulter!) would not let that happen again. As a result, Coulter foisted Romney on conservatives in the 2012 election and she is trying to foist Trump on us now. Don’t let her!

Pride’s Proverbial Fall

“I am up to the job.”

An impossible job that no one asked Coulter to undertake.

Pride has always been Coulter’s downfall[16] and it is the source of most of the dysfunctional aspects of her life.

Pride is the Devil’s greatest weapon and man’s Achilles’ heel.

I had often wondered whether wicked people know they are wicked. I found the answer in Psalm 36:1-3 (NLT), which reads (emphasis added):

“Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God at all. In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are. Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good.”

We know that much of what Coulter says “is crooked and deceitful.”[17] Coulter truly cannot be trusted. Why? Because she believes her own lies. In her “blind conceit,” Coulter is blinded to the evil that she does.

Pray that God humble Ann, cleanse her heart, and renew a right spirit within her. Until then, never trust Ann Coulter.

Are Coulter’s ‘Facts’ Right?

Ann Coulter has been sacked by the Truth[1] more often than RG3 has been sacked by the Detroit Lions.

Coulter often does speak truth, but she all too often tells lies. Discerning between truth and lies can be problematic with Coulter. During her latest book tour, Coulter has told countless lies. Small lies. Big lies. Smug lies. Hurtful lies. Shameful lies.

Sacked

One tactic Coulter uses to present her propaganda[2] (to promote herself and her agenda) is that of speaking with conviction. She will forcefully and vehemently lie with the expectation that her seeming conviction will convince others of her falsehoods.[3]

Coulter v. Colmes

Before highlighting some of the many falsehoods from Coulter’s current book tour (so many lies, so little time), it would be instructive to consider an exchange with Alan Colmes:[4]

Coulter: “The truth about immigration is always the same; the lies are always different. I look at the studies. You know, you have to read down and figure out, where’s the lie here? Where’s the lie there? They lie in all different kinds of ways.”

Colmes: “So whenever I present data you don’t like, you just say it’s a lie.”

Coulter: “Exactly!

Colmes: “So every study is wrong except the ones you quote?”

Coulter: “Look! I show the data. You can look at it yourself.”

Whenever Coulter is confronted with facts she cannot refute, she will dismiss them or deny their veracity.

Coulter’s False “Facts” on Her Book Tour

Here are just a few of Coulter’s many prevarications:

[The hyperlinked headings provide the truth about her fraudulent claims.]

ISIS poses no threat to the American homeland.[5] “I don’t even care about ISIS! … ISIS is not at our doorstep.”[6] And, “I have a little tip. If you don’t want to be killed by ISIS, don’t go to Syria.”[7]

ISIS: 0.[8] Dismissing the terrorist threat in America, Coulter concluded a column: “Now go back to worrying about ISIS.”[9]

America has taken in 25% of Mexico.[10] “America has already taken in one-fourth of Mexico’s entire population.”[11] And, “We’ve taken one quarter of Mexico’s population.”[12]

Civil rights[13] are only for blacks.[14] “The only time you should be able to sue for discrimination is if you are an African-American. That’s it! That’s it! I don’t want to hear about anybody else. You can hire whomever you want to. You can fire whomever you want to. … Civil rights are for blacks.”[15]

Diversity is white.[16] Ann Coulter’s America is exceedingly small and insular. Coulter crows, “It used to be more diverse, admittedly from white, Western European countries, mostly. But I consider, you know, the Scotch, the Irish, the English – I think that’s enough diversity. That really mixes it up for me.”[17]

America will be a WASP nation again.[18] Coulter explained (emphasis added): “It’s a monochromatic WASP country that other ethnicities have come to and for the first 400 years of its existence, (as a colony and then as a country) the ‘wildly diverse’ immigrants were other white western Europeans. That was the extent of the diversity.”[19]

And, “Send me a million people who want to come to America, and I will decide them all before breakfast. I can pretty much decide on looks; it would save a lot of money.”[20]

Coulter has never been accused of racism.[21] “One thing I have never been called, ah, is, is, is, is a racist. Um, anyone, anyone who reads my book – or, or Mugged – will see, um, that that would be a very difficult case to make.”[22]

All immigrants are bad.[23] “My only quibble with [Trump] is that, No. 1, it’s legal immigrants, too. And, No. 2, there are no good ones.”[24]

Pro-lifers are putzes[25] and sissies.[26] “Exactly. So sick of the anti-abortion machismo from right wing sissies.”[27]

And, “… their big thing is to keep talking about this abortion thing. Well, that’s great if it were 1977. I’d think you’re really brave and you’re doing a great thing. But I kind of think you’re just a putz imitating what was good forty years ago at this point.”[28]

Mitt Romney was better than Reagan.[29] “[Romney] did better than Reagan did. I think that’s pretty good.”[30] And “The best we ever had was Mitt Romney.”[31]

Donald Trump could win as a third-party candidate.[32] “[A third party candidacy] would be fantastic! Go, Trump, Go!”[33] And “I think he could be not only a nominee who could win but a third party candidate who could win.”

Hillary Clinton will be Democrat nominee.[34] “I promise you Jeb or Rubio are going to lead to a Hillary presidency.”[35] And, “You have to vote for Hillary over those two[36] [Bush and Rubio].”[37]

Nikki Haley is an ignorant immigrant:[38] “Well, I’m a student of American history. On the other hand, [Nikki Haley] is an immigrant and does not understand America’s history.”[39]

Ted Cruz is ineligible to be President:[40] “Ted Cruz gave a good answer on immigration. Too bad he’s not a natural born citizen!”[41]

Carly Fiorina is just a woman who can talk:[42] “I’ve turned against [Carly Fiorina] as of yesterday with the hot, hot hate of a thousand suns. … At first, I admit I was suspicious because I hate this, ‘Oh, a woman can talk, oh, isn’t that’s great?’”[43]

Ann Coulter is better that Donald Trump.[44] “Trump’s a piker compared to moi.”[45]

Coulter is Not Conservatism’s Best

Delusions of grandeur aside, Coulter cannot be trusted because she thinks too highly of herself and she regards her lies as superior to the truth that we all need to make informed decisions.

RG3 boasted: “I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that … There’s guys in this league that have done way more than me. But I still view myself as the best because that’s what I work toward every single day.”

Throughout her book tour,[46] Coulter has boasted about her superiority,[47] praising herself[48] and her book.[49]

Coulter is sacked by truth on a weekly, if not almost daily, basis. Until Coulter speaks the truth and sticks with the truth, Conservatives should not stick with Coulter.[50]

Honest Ann? Honestly?

Ann Coulter seems intent upon continually out-Coultering herself. Yesterday, she claimed: “If you crave association with honest people, you’ll love Ann Coulter!”[1]

When it comes to truth, Coulter is frequently truth-deprived. Coulter has a trust deficit because she has a truth deficit. (Not unlike Hillary Clinton.)[2]

Honest

Let’s consider Ann’s record over just the past nine weeks, during her current book tour.

Coulter has lied about …

Even after her claims have been debunked, Coulter repeats them – and even amplifies to them.

For quite some time, Coulter has been living in an alternative universe[17] where she envisions and ascribes various and sundry superlatives to herself[18] (best Christian, conservative, libertarian, pro-lifer, etc.).

Why is Coulter not trusted? It all has to do with Coulter’s integrity and veracity,[19] or lack thereof.

To be trusted, one must be trustworthy. Coulter is not.
