Happy 58th Birthday, @AnnCoulter

Conservative celebrity Ann Coulter turned 58 today. What has she accomplished in her nearly six decades of life?

Coulter’s life and work, worldview and self-identity, are all filled with myriad contradictions and conundrums. From whence do those arise? Hers is a fascinating story of elite privilege, hubris, and insecurity.

Almost sexagenarian Ann has both achieved her wildest dreams and squandered her life.

Raising a Narcissist

Ann’s first few weeks of life were spent in an incubator and her child and teenage years were also lived in an incubator of sorts, one which nurtured and molded the narcissist so many have grown to either love or hate. Those incubators have isolated Ann from real life and real relationships. (Now, she confesses to be an agoraphobe who reads a lot.)

As a child, Ann, the last-born baby princess, was both doted upon and the object of high expectations. Ann had much to live up toher family name, her Puritan ancestry, and her WASP settler roots.

Higher Education and Networking

Ann was reared by elites in the elite town of New Canaan, Connecticut, and she later attended elite academic institutions: Cornell University and the University of Michigan Law School.

As a child, Ann quickly learned how to manipulate people with her looks and quick wit. In later years, she put her skills to good use, creating a vast network of useful contacts in academia, the media, and among various political organizations.

Coulter used those useful contacts to obtain jobs and, later, media gigs. Indeed, she would later all of those connections into lucrative book deals and speaking engagements, even cross-country speaking tours (and a Canadian speaking tour, as well).

Coulter would inevitably be drawn to the three power centers of America: Washington, D.C., (politics), New York (media), and Los Angeles (entertainment).

From Senate Staffer to Conservative Star

Since her teenage years (oh so long ago), Ann sought to become a star, a mover-and-shaker, a President-maker. In the late 1990s, Coulter was an obscure Senate staffer who quickly rose to prominence within conservative circles and would, in time, become close friends with multi-millionaires and billionaires.

In 1997, Coulter betrayed Paula Jones in order to impeach President Clinton. Ever since, she has sought to control the nomination process and electoral outcome of every presidential election, by whatever means necessary.

President-Maker and Pretender to the Throne

Beginning with the 2000 presidential election, Coulter sought to make a president. For fully two decades, Coulter smeared all opposition to her preferred candidates, fabricating “facts” and employing elimination rhetoric to achieve her personal, professional, and ideological goals. The politics of personal destruction became her métier.

Coulter became the gold standard for scorched-earth politics and relished identifying herself as a polemicist and provocateur.

Coulter found success in Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential victory campaign and has often claimed credit for his agenda and success. Indeed, during the first three years of Trump’s presidency, Coulter has acted as if she were president and that he should do her will.

Losing Her Moral Compass

In the end, Coulter discarded the values and principles instilled in her by Father and the grace, compassion, and generosity exemplified by Mother. Coulter abandoned the faith of Father and twisted the faith of Mother into her own unique gospel.

While despising the “godless Left” for its anti-Americanism and moral relativism, Coulter adopted the Left’s axiom of “the end justifies the means.”

Though claiming to be “totally pro-life,” Coulter has bashed the pro-life movement for over two decades, placing political pragmatism over eternal principles. Despite claiming to be “an extraordinarily good Christian,” Coulter has attacked Christians for over two decades – for behaving like Christians!

Once the fiercest neo-conservative warrior, Coulter became a strident nativist, pacifist, isolationist, and immigration hawk. With each incarnation, Coulter called those who opposed her views “traitors.”

From #InTrumpWeTrust to #NeverTrump … all over a Wall!

With Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory, Coulter’s dream of making a President (in her eyes, she gets almost all the credit) came true. But the honeymoon was over even before the election results came in.

Coulter vacillates between being #InTrumpWeTrust and #NeverTrump seemingly by the day, if not the hour. One moment she worships her “Emperor-God Trump” and the next she declares doomsday because of Trump! (Talk about mood swings!)

Beginning around 2014, Coulter’s peers, sponsors, and fans began rejecting her. President Trump called her a #WackyNutJob! Coulter became walled off from reality! Even at the end of 2019, in the midst of an American Renaissance, Coulter screamed doomsday! In effect, Coulter became the Left’s secret weapon against Trump and against America.

Coulter’s myopic view of #BuildTheWall walled her off from the reality of Trump’s 3D chess strategy. Coulter remains oblivious to Trump’s phenomenal achievements, all the more astonishing in that he is opposed by the #Resistance and a series of #WitchHunts seeking a #DeepStateCoup! Nevertheless, Trump keeps winning and winning.

Victim of Her Own Success

Power corrupts. So does fame. Coulter acquired both in a short period of time. All of the forces in her life fed her ego, puffed her up with pride, and propelled her to ever greater heights of hubris and hyperbolic polemics.

Coulter has garnered considerable attention, fame, glory, and infamy. She has achieved much, perhaps beyond her wildest imagination. She has received countless awards and accolades and strutted over many red carpets, but what has she really accomplished?

Coulter is intensely hated by the Left, is a pariah on the Right, has been rejected by those who know her best, and is at Ground Zero of the catastrophic forces which are tearing America apart – forces which she herself helped unleash!

Coulter’s perhaps well-intentioned efforts have often proved counterproductive. Justifying her extremist polemics, at CPAC 2002, Coulter argued that moving ever further right would pull people from the left to the center. Instead, her polemical approach pushed the left further left, exacerbating the political and cultural divide which plagues America today.

Coulter fuels the fires and fans the flames of hostile polemical rhetoric so palpable in contemporary America. Yet, she feels no guilt or shame and accepts no responsibility for her behavior and her role in the deterioration of political discourse in America.

Impenitent, not Irredeemable

Even though Coulter remains impenitent, she is not irredeemable. God loves … even Ann.

There are encouraging signs. Ann’s commentary appears much more factual and far less polemical than at the height of her career. Her verbal and Twitter outbursts of rage are less frequent. Certain anecdotal evidence gives me hope that Ann may be turning toward God, who alone can heal her brokenness.

My dear readers, please pray for Ann’s redemption and healing this Christmas season.

May God bless you all, bless Ann, bless President Trump, and bless this great nation.

Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged provides an in-depth, detailed analysis of Coulter’s worldview and character flaws which have led her to be so wrong in so many areas in which she regards herself as an expert.

Joker addresses the physical, mental, emotional, psychological, familial, sexual, and spiritual dimensions which have shaped the Ann Coulter that we know today and it highlights both the positive and negative aspects of Coulter’s life and career.

God Loves … Even YOU, @AnnCoulter!

Dear Ann,

You are well aware of the many criticisms directed at you in my latest book, Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged. You also know of the praise and encouragement contained within that book.

Permit me to, again, offer you hope!

Your failures, faults, and foibles all derive from your soul-deep self-identities. They, in turn, are your way of coping with the deepest wounds of your past and your deep insecurities – which you hide from others by various means. Your arrogance and hubris mask the emotional turmoil raging within you.

Narcissism is so very unbecoming. So, too, are hardened hearts and closed minds.

Yet, Ann, despite all of your failures and all of your psychological dysfunctions, you remain a very gifted person.

You are clever, though not wise. You have a wealth of knowledge, yet can be an ignorant know-it-all like @AOC. You are an accomplished wordsmith who, all too often, uses your words injudiciously. Often, you have keen insights, yet, you also often go astray due to your obsessive self-identities, those you have created as a raison d’etre and to hide your wounds and brokenness.

Your self-identities, as identified and explained in Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged, have warped your worldview and imprisoned you in a prison of your own making. As a consequence, you have alienated people from across the political spectrum and severed many personal and professional relationships with individuals and organization who were once enthralled by you.

But, take heart, there is hope. You can be restored. Your wounds and brokenness can be healed. Your calloused heart and closed mind can be made whole again.

Will you listen? Will you take heed? Will you allow humility to conquer your hubris?

God loves you. Yes – YOU!

Will you accept His love? Will you allow His love to transform your life? Will you follow His will instead of your own?

Until you do, you are and will remain Dead Ann Walking!

Your REAL Identity

Who are you? If you knew the Bible as well as you know 1984, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and Alien Nation, then you would know who you are.

Throughout Scripture, God tells us over and over again who we are. If we have been redeemed by Christ and Jesus lives in us, then we are beloved children of God.

In John 15:9, Jesus tells His disciples, “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.”

Ann, accept Jesus’ love and live in His love.

Several videos exquisitely convey the significance of what it means to have one’s identity in Christ. Among them, Our Identity in Christ, Your Identity in Christ, 101 Truths about our identity (position) in Christ, Identity in Christ Scripture Meditation, Identity in Christ, Identity in Christ, How God sees you in Christ, Identity in Christ, and Who Am I (Know Your Identity in Christ).

Therefore, our true identity – both our sense of self and our sense of worth – are found and bound up in Jesus Christ and only Jesus Christ.

Jesus is our only hope for freedom. “So, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

God is infinite. Nothing is impossible with Him. And His love for His children is everlasting. When we forget who He is and who we are, we become lost, bewildered, and alone. But when we remember that we are the beloved children of an infinite God, everything changes.

If you are in Christ, never forget who you are and that your identity is found in Him.

If you are not in Christ, go to Him, repent, seek forgiveness and transformation, and rest in Him!

Author and evangelist Timothy Keller exhorts Christians “to live as the adopted sons and daughters of God secure in the abiding and abundant love of their heavenly Father (Rom. 8:15-17; 31-39).”[1]

Countless worship songs express God’s infinite love and unfathomable grace for His people. Among them are Casting Crowns’ Only Jesus, Lauren Daigle’s You Say, Sidewalk Prophets’ Come to the Table, Hawk Nelson’s Drops in the Ocean, Francesca Battistelli’s He Knows My Name, Melody Noel’s Mistakes, Matthew West’s Mended, and MercyMe’s Flawless.[2]

Let There Be Light in your life, flowing from God, through you, to others!

The more we limit God by putting Him in a box, the more limitations we place on ourselves. The more we have a diminished view of God, the more we place Him, ourselves, and others in ever-smaller boxes. But with an exalted view of God, we have a liberating view of Him, ourselves, and others.

With a limitless God, not the sky, but heaven itself is the only limit to our dreams.

Take heart, Ann! The best is yet to come – if you will see yourself and the world through God’s eyes and embrace His unfathomably deep, boundless, and everlasting love for you.

Please reread Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged with an intent to (re)establish a relationship with our Father in heaven, who deeply loves you and desires the best for you in this life and the next.

[2]           A colleague of Ann’s once asked me, “She doesn’t care about you. Why do you care about her?” Let me answer that question this way: Every human being has been rebellious to God. Everyone has sinned against Him and let Him down. Nevertheless, He still loves us with an unfailing love. If I – as a fallen human being who has seen the dark side of Ann up close and personal – if I can care for her, how much more does our Father in heaven, filled with everlasting love, love her with a perfect love?

Ann Coulter – Rejected by Her Peers, Sponsors, and Fans

In the late 1990s, Ann Coulter was called the Goddess of the Conservative Movement. In the early 2000s, Coulter became a Conservative Icon. For over a dozen years, Coulter was the go-to pundit for radio and TV interviews and she was regularly featured on Fox News (at least weekly, often more often than that).

Once regarded as one of the most powerful and influential people in America, Coulter’s meteoric rise has, ironically, found its meteor lost in a black hole of her own making.

Pride goes before destruction. Hubris destroys everything it touches.

Virtually every organization which one championed Coulter – and lavished her with praise, power, and lucrative speaking fees – has, one after another, abandoned her.

The conservative forum, Free Republic, worshiped Coulter as a goddess in 1998 and many years thereafter. Now, for the better part of a decade, its members almost uniformly dismiss Coulter with exceedingly uncomplimentary denunciations.

Coulter was a regular speaker for the Claire Boothe Luce Policy Institute (CBLPI) for well over a decade, but no longer. That relationship ended many years ago.

Similarly, Coulter was a very popular speaker for Young America’s Foundation, which would typically sponsor a dozen or score of Coulter speeches in any given year. That ended a few years ago.

The College Republicans frequently sponsored Coulter speeches for a number of years, but, for quite some time, has not done so.

Eagle Forum, once a Coulter advocate and speech sponsor, now acts as if Coulter does not exist.

Coulter was a featured speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) from 1998-2014. For the past five years, despite Coulter’s best efforts, CPAC has shunned Coulter due to her antics, polemics, and provocative behavior.

For over a dozen years, the Media Research Center (MRC) adamantly supported Coulter and featured her in its annual prestigious Dishonors Awards program. Following Coulter’s repeated series of anti-Catholic tweets and comments, MRC has privately disavowed Coulter.

For nearly two decades, Coulter was beloved by Fox News. Following a series of anti-Semitic tweets in 2015, Coulter was banished from its airwaves for about a year-and-a-half. Coulter’s bizarre behavior in 2018 led to another banishment. She hasn’t appeared on Fox News since November 2018.

In 2017, Turning Point USA added Coulter to its roster of speakers, but then, the very next year, declined to invite Coulter to speak at its four-day conference in Coulter’s backyard of West Palm Beach, Florida. (Coulter was actually in town during the conference.) Even now, in 2019, it excludes her from “The BIGGEST & most influential women in conservative politics will be in Dallas, TX for #YWLS2019 June 6th-9th.”

Most recently, Coulter has been abandoned by her journalistic home of some 23 years, Human Events! She was recently described as “formerly a regular on Human Events.” Her last column was published on February 20, 2019.

Coulter feels sorry for herself. She laments her loss of friends and relationships. But she seemingly fails to grasp why she lost those relationships.

Despite having over two million Twitter followers, Coulter’s actual fan base seems to be shrinking. Her last few books were flops!

Coulter’s words, last August, express her sorrow without really acknowledging the reality of why those relationships became broken. (Coulter is not one to take responsibility for her own actions or failures. Rather, she is quick to blame others for her own faults.)

I suspect that, in reality, Ann is saddened that she is no longer wanted. People have come to know who she really is and they don’t trust her.

When will Coulter look in the mirror, see her own faults, and seek forgiveness and redemption?

Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged provides an in-depth, detailed analysis in this holistic exposé of how and why Coulter has become a pariah among her peers and former colleagues and friends.

Joker addresses the physical, mental, emotional, psychological, familial, sexual, and spiritual dimensions which have shaped the Ann Coulter that we know today and it highlights both the positives and the negatives of Coulter’s life and career.

Ann’s brokenness provides an object lesson for all of us and, hopefully, this book will act as an intervention to help Ann face her deep brokenness and motivate her to seek healing and restoration.

Until then, Coulter has become a spent force … all sound and fury signifying nothing.

Ann Coulter’s Cowardly Berkeley Bluff

In 2017, Coulter was undeservedly hailed a valiant heroine for the Battle at Berkeley, yet her perceived defiance of leftist mobs and censoring administrators was really not at all courageous.

In fact, Coulter never expected or intended to give a speech at Berkeley! It was all a clever ruse and publicity stunt. Bravado, not bravery, marked Coulter’s Berkeley bluff.

The sole purpose of this event was not to speak but to prove censorship of conservative speakers. (Coulter offers polemics, not persuasion. The organizers picked the person most likely to provoke left-wing activists on campus.)

After successfully portraying herself as a courageous free speech warrior – having gotten exactly what she wanted: publicity and a new image – Coulter did not give what would have been a truly “free” (no honorarium) speech in what she herself insisted was the “safest place on earth” for her.

Before getting into details, let’s recall that Berkeley has justifiably been almost universally condemned (except by some on the far left) for not allowing Coulter to speak. Nevertheless, Coulter is not the courageous heroine she would have you believe her to be.

(This is a very abbreviated extract from a case study in Joker: Ann Coulter Unplugged.)

Clever Marketing Ploy

I gave Ann an Alamo Award in 1997 for her unquestioned courage – at that time – in speaking truth to power, at the risk of losing her livelihood. At Berkeley, Coulter risked nothing whatsoever. Indeed, regardless of the outcome, Coulter expected to gain that which she sought: publicity and an image of being a heroic-martyr.

This epic battle of wills pitting liberty lovers against left-wing mobs and academic censors saturated national news coverage. Coulter’s gambit was actually just a PR stunt from the very beginning. And it worked.

Her #BerkeleyBound mission perfectly suited her purposes. Whether or not she spoke, she won. If she spoke, she was heroic; if not, she was a courageous martyr. Win-win.

The Washington Post reported: “In a classic case of ‘heads I win, tails you lose,’ conservative provocateur Ann Coulter emerged from last week’s events at the University of California at Berkeley as a free-speech martyr.”

Coulter couldn’t lose. That was the plan from the start. It was all braggadocio and bravado, a marketing ploy explicitly designed to reinvigorate her reputation and career.

Timeline

Here’s the actual timeline of events according to Coulter and her speech sponsors:

BridgeUSA and YAF sponsored Coulter’s speech. She knew – given riots at Milo Yiannopoulos’ event in February – that she wouldn’t be giving her speech. The university and/or rioters would surely shut it down.

Berkeley placed ever-demanding restrictions on Coulter’s speech. She insisted that YAF concede to every single demand. Coulter could not quit. She had to wait – and wait patiently she did (because she knew it was inevitable) – for Berkeley to cancel, making her a martyr. She told Tucker Carlson, “Well, they changed the rules every ten minutes. I kept agreeing to all of their conditions – they were hoping I would cancel.”

In this high-stakes game of chicken, Berkeley flinched. Berkeley caved and cancelled her speech, enabling Coulter to play the heroic victim of institutional censorship and mob rule.

Under intense media and political pressure, Berkeley offered an alternative date, which Coulter refused, keeping the pressure on Berkeley. Meanwhile, her sponsors filed lawsuits.

Coulter demanded her original speaking slot, insisted she would speak, and suggested she would speak in Sproul Plaza, if need be.

Berkeley announced that it could not ensure the safety of the speaker and attendees. Then YAF folded. Coulter wrote, “We were on [the] cusp of victory and YAF backed down, refused to seek a court order or allow the College Republicans to request a court order.  It’s a sad day for free speech.”

Coulter’s sponsors caved. Coulter was incensed. Why? She wanted Berkeley to cave and herself be vindicated as a heroine. Instead, she would have to speak outdoors, something she did not want to do. Her rant in the above-linked video was a visual and verbal expression of the hatred within her heart – the source of her vitriol.

In the end, Gavin McInnes, her good friend and latest knight in shining armor, gave Coulter’s (hastily-written and extremely-short) speech on her behalf in Sproul Plaza. Coulter was there, in Berkeley, but not at that peaceful event. Afterward, she joined McInnes and supporters for drinks at George and Walt’s.

As noted above, Coulter exhibited genuine courage in 1996-97. Hence her Alamo Award.

Since then, Coulter has gotten edgier and edgier while simultaneously abandoning her principles and ideals. In doing so, Coulter has actually embraced her fears. Now she is desperately grasping for the glory she once had and which increasingly eludes her.

What she fears most is facing the truth about the person she has become. Moreover, Coulter fears that she is beyond redemption, so why not continue on her downward path. (Ann, My Redeemer Lives, and so does yours!)

Ann Coulter isn’t a voice for freedom or free speech. Ann Coulter is a voice for Ann Coulter.

RIP Nell Husbands Martin Coulter

The death of Mother devastated Ann Coulter.

Following Mother’s death, Ann published a very personal, poignant, and often political eulogy.

In her eulogy, Ann mourned the loss her of “true No. 1 fan” who “was the biggest fan of” her entire family. Mother “was a little love machine, spreading warmth and joy wherever she went.” Mother loved hugging her daughter and telling her “what a wonderful, precious daughter” Ann was.

Ann felt safe and secure in her mother’s love: “My whole life, as soon as I’d see my mother’s face I’d know I was safe, whether I was a little girl lost in a department store or a big girl with a problem, who needed her mother.”

This Mother-Daughter love was very real.

A devoted daughter, Ann took excellent care of Mother during her declining years as she battled ovarian cancer. Ann even postponed publication of her seventh book, Guilty, to tend to her mother’s needs.

Ann understandably misses Mother’s “constant, unconditional love.”

In many ways, Ann emulates Mother (often to an extreme). In other ways, Ann repudiates Mother (often in extremist ways). Today, Mother would be both proud of, and perturbed by, her daughter.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Ann and Mother both cherished their New England and Southern roots. Coulter’s prized genealogical roots all trace through Mother: New England Puritans and Daughters of the American Revolution, coupled with a solid Southern heritage.

Mother wanted to be specifically remembered for her “contributions to the Republican Party, the New Canaan Republican Town Committee and the Daughters of the American Revolution.”

“Mother may have thought her most notable characteristic was her Republican activism,” Coulter wrote, emphasizing her “deep-seated political activism” and being “always delighted to be with people talking about politics.”

Sounds a lot like Ann.

Mother was very proud to be “a direct descendant of at least a dozen patriots who served the cause of the American Revolution.” In fact, she “traced her lineage on both sides of her family to Puritan nonconformists who came to America in 1633 seeking religious freedom on a ship led by Pastor Thomas Hooker.”

Coulter, as she typically does, takes everything to extremes. Ann is so proud of her heritage as a Daughter of the American Revolution that she regards herself as a “settler” – and a “Native American.”

Ann also regards herself – a WASP – as a true American. (Hence her nativist and xenophobic impulses.) She treasures her Puritan roots, making her a self-identified authority on all things American.

Moreover, Ann is proud of Mother’s Southern roots, praising Mother’s “fighting Kentucky spirit” and “charming Southern accent.”

Coulter lauds the Confederacy whenever she can and tweeted (8/3/16): “Southerners accounted for 38 percent of those killed in Iraq and 47 percent in Afghanistan.” She then asked Gov. Haley: “How about Nikki put their flag back up?”

In other words, Coulter contends that Southerners who died in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan were fighting for the Confederacy!

Coulter continued: “The Confederate flag won’t lead to thousands of dead and maimed Americans, as Muslim immigration does. The only danger posed by the Confederate flag is that media elites will hold the South in even greater contempt than they already do, assuming that’s possible.”

Yes, Coulter equates Southerners with Confederates and believes that our brave military members from the South are currently fighting for the Confederacy and not for America!

Thus, Coulter has become the face of the Alt-Right movement, seeking restoration of a distinctly white WASP America while, simultaneously, promoting a neo-Confederate worldview.

Unlike Mother …

Mother was generous. Mother “probably contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to various conservative outfits over the years.” Ann, not so much.

Ann’s generosity extends to helping those who can help her.

If she can get something out of it – self-promotion, praise, paycheck, book sale, networking connection – Ann will do it. Otherwise – if it does not personally benefit her – forget it.

Mother was compassionate. Since she “was a little girl,” Ann saw that “friends, relatives and neighbors would bring their problems to Mother.” Why? Because Mother “had a rare combination of being completely moral and completely nonjudgmental at the same time” and would give “good counsel” without making others feel worse about themselves.

As for Ann, well, her entire career is based upon wounding other people. Given a choice between fact and polemic, Ann usually chooses the latter.

Mother valued human life. She was a “gentle lady” who “never had an unkind word for anyone.” In fact, “Father would always smile and say, ‘Your mother defends everyone.’”

Mother was proud of Ann for her pro-life speech presented before a Roman Catholic women’s group in New Canaan, CT, and later published in Human Life Review and various essay collections nationwide.

Now, though claiming, “I am totally pro-life,” Ann passionately attacks conservatives and Christians for pursuing a pro-life agenda.

As far back as the late 1990s, Coulter began attacking pro-lifers for purely political purposes. In reality, Coulter would have pro-lifers do nothing and let the unborn fend for themselves!

Mother was a devout Christian. Faith figured prominently in Mother’s life. She was very active in her local church and her faith was important enough to her that she faithfully turned her daughter to Presbyterianism.

In her moving eulogy, Ann emphasized Mother’s Republican activism and DAR lineage. Surprisingly, Ann missed Mother’s Christian beliefs. She utterly ignored her Mother’s faith.

Though claiming, “I’m an extraordinarily good Christian,” Ann has attacked Christians for most of the past two decades. She even attacks Christians for being godly!

Ann lovingly gave honor to Mother with her words, but in her life Coulter dishonors Mother.

Gone Astray

As I wrote last year:

I suspect that Ann never really believed in the Christian ideals and conservative principles she espoused. Indeed, she was not the “true believer” everyone believed her to be. Rather, she adopted those ideals and principles from her parents, whom she loved. Her father died in 2008; her mother in 2009. Since then, Ann’s moral and spiritual compass no longer exists. Ann is being tossed to and fro by the pragmatism of the moment and the passing whims of her heart.”

“Coulter hates conservatives, Christians, and pro-lifers for being what they are because she once believed she belonged in those categories. Now, whenever these people of principle act on their principles, she is put to shame as a charlatan. They expose Coulter for who she really is – a fraud.”

“Will Ann always be a fraud? Only God knows and only He can bring meaning and direction to her life. Unless and until Ann courageously faces the reality of who she has become and fights the good fight of faith to become the person God has called her to be, she will always be filled with hate and fear.”

“May God grant Ann repentance and transform her heart.”

Yes, Ann Hart Coulter has, indeed, lost the moorings of her parents’ presence, principles, and piety. Her heart is now turned in the wrong direction, away from God and opposed to His will. Whether or not she knows it, Ann has rejected God and His will for her life.

Instead, the “Emperor-God Trump” is her Savior. Coulter has rejected God and arrogantly placed her will above His.

Coulter recently said that with Mother’s passing, she can now say anything she wants to. She claimed, “I really am the freest person in America right now. I can say anything.”

The Easter season reminds us that we are all equal before the cross and that we must humble ourselves before the One who saves.

Obviously, humility eludes Ann. Her hubris abhors humility because 1) she rejects its efficacy and 2) she regards it as a sign of weakness.

Here’s the rub: Without humility, salvation is impossible. We must humbly come to the cross to accept God’s love and salvation. Until we do, we are not saved and we will never have peace.

Our Father’s Love

Ann praised Mother for her “unconditional love.” Mother was loving – and loved.

Mother’s love actually points to our heavenly Father’s perfect unconditional love. But only God perfectly expresses and exhibits unconditional love. Mothers can come close, but imperfectly.

Our Father has a perfect love, presence, and power. Trust Him!

In her eulogy, Ann expressed reassurance that Mother and Father were reunited in heaven and that she would see them both in time.

Revelation 21:4 reveals: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

I pray that God wipes away all of Ann’s tears, from whatever source.

Coulter Turns 55 – or Zero?

Ann Coulter was born 55 years ago, today, on 12/8/1961. Coulter’s spiritual birth date is as yet undetermined.

ann-coulter-turns-55-or-zero

Chronologically, Ann is 55-years-old; spiritually, she may not even be a newborn.

Coulter received a strict Catholic education (K-8) at St. Aloysius Catholic School until she entered public school. She eventually rejected her father’s Catholicism in favor of her mother’s Presbyterian faith, yet, upon reaching adulthood, she apparently disengaged herself from religion altogether. The absence of an internal moral compass would forever plague her.

With the publication of Godless (2006), Coulter zealously expressed a newfound faith in God, one which was conveniently finely calibrated to her ideology, agenda, and career.

Her father passed away in 2008, after years of declining health from dementia. Her mother died the following year. Since then, Coulter’s religious and political views have become quite bizarre, suggesting that her religious beliefs – whatever they were as a child and young adult – were actually those of her parents but not something she herself truly believed.

Coulter has never been restrained by an internal moral compass. Rather, when she toed the line it was to please her parents, not God. With their passing, Coulter has liberated herself from all moral and religious constraints.

As Coulter puts it, “My mother passed away. I can say anything now.

Non-Christian Behavior

Coulter claims to be “an extraordinarily good Christian” and “a big Christian.”[1] (I’m surprised she hasn’t claimed to be a Yuge Christian, like her savior, Donald Trump.)

For a “Christian,” Coulter spends an ungodly amount of time attacking Christians for behaving like Christians.[2] Moreover, Coulter’s own version of the gospel[3] is decidedly different from that of traditional and historic Christianity.

Coulter defends Trump on virtually everything, irrespective of the truth, belying her claim, “I want to speak the truth.”[4] But then, truth has never been a high priority for Coulter.[5]

Coulter’s latest iteration of the gospel message of Jesus Christ casts into question her very definition of “evangelical” – a term she has actually applied to herself: “I don’t think the Republicans understand evangelicals. We don’t need to be coddled to constantly.”

Coulter denigrates evangelicals, claiming, “Evangelicals won’t come out in droves for him because he’s not having ecstasies on stage.”[6] She repeated, “You don’t have to have ecstasies on stage to impress a Christian.” Yet again: “You don’t have to have religious ecstasies on stage to get the Christian vote.”

Is that how Coulter views evangelicals?

But Coulter also shockingly implied that Christians don’t have to behave like Christians. She said, “Like the military, you don’t have to observe, you have to respect the military, respect what they do.”

Her words are somewhat confusing, but the implications of her words mirror her defense of Trump’s unchristian behavior: “Some Christians want proof that a candidate has memorized Bible verses. I want a candidate who lives by this verse: ‘So do not be afraid of them.’”[7]

Coulter, again, eschews character and godliness to further her political and ideological agenda. She relegates integrity to the margins and places expediency front-and-center. In doing so, Coulter demonstrates her own faithlessness to not only the principles and doctrines of her faith but to her professed faith itself.

Fruit of the Spirit

Coulter boasts of being a Christian, yet doesn’t act like one. Are we to believe her claims or our eyes?

In Galatians 5:22-23, the apostle Paul describes the character traits of a Christian: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”

Coulter appears bereft of the fruit of the Spirit. (Perhaps this is more hyperbole than reality, but then, so is much of Ann’s work.)

Love. If Coulter loves anything, she loves to hate. A master of polemics, vitriol is her passion. Sarcasm – cutting – is her favorite form of humor.

Joy. Coulter appears most joyful when she is in the spotlight (narcissist seeking glory[8]) and when she is emasculating her foes (and they are legion).

Peace. Peace seems to elude Ann. She is well known for her diatribes on matters great and small. (Even soccer filled her heart with rage.)

Longsuffering. The very moment someone steps out of line, Coulter instantly launches into a Twitter tirade. Those tirades are frequent and they are often ugly.

Kindness. Coulter is not particularly well known for her kindness. Indeed, Coulter lacks simple charity.

Goodness. If anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, and nativism count as “goodness,” then Coulter is filled to the brim.

Faithfulness. Coulter is renowned for betraying[9] her friends, her clients, her readers, and voters in both local and national elections. Similarly, Coulter betrays the very people of God, attacking their godliness, calling them traitors, and facilitating their martyrdom.

Gentleness. Another spiritual trait lacking in Coulter’s repertoire, gentleness was not to be found for Gold Star Families who are “immigrants.”

Self-control. Coulter’s temper tantrums (on-air, in commentary, and on social media) are inescapable. If Coulter doesn’t get her way – look out! Self-control? No. Control freak?[10] Yes. (The odd thing is, Coulter wants to control everything except herself!)

What has Ann actually accomplished with all of her nonsense? How many lives has she damaged or destroyed? How much damage has Ann done to herself and to those she loves?

The apostle Paul exhorts each of us to focus on what is most important in life: faith, hope, and love. Paul wrote (1 Cor. 13:1-3, emphasis added):

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”

Coulter sees herself – and more importantly, wants to be regarded – as “an extraordinarily good Christian.” But worldly people are incapable of living a godly life. The fruit of the Spirit is the fruit of the Spirit. The worldly cannot behave in a godly manner.

We expect Coulter to act her age – and she does: 55 (chronologically) and zero (spiritually).

May Jesus touch Ann’s heart this Christmas season and fill her with His love, joy, and peace.

Coulter Hates What She Isn’t and Who She Is

Since the 1990s, Ann Coulter has expressed her hatred[1] for individuals and entire groups of people.[2] Moreover, she has called hatred a patriotic duty.[3]

Not surprisingly, Coulter hates those who are not like her.[4] She hates, in others words, what she isn’t.

Coulter Hates Self

But Coulter also hates who she is.[5]  Indeed, Coulter hates what she isn’t because of who she is.

Let’s look at who and what Coulter hates and see how, in reality, she hates herself.

Coulter Hates Conservatives

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a conservative? Coulter claims, “I’m like the conservative ayatollah.”[6] And, “I really do need to be the ayatollah of this [conservative] movement.”[7] (Do conservatives even have ayatollahs?)

Joe Newby, at the Conservative Firing Line, made a strikingly accurate observation (emphasis added): “But more to the point, [Coulter] has ripped the mask off and revealed that underneath, she truly hates conservatives, especially those who disagree with her – and she’s not beneath throwing them all under the bus.”

Notice, Coulter hates conservatives who disagree with her.[8] Part of her shtick is that she is always right, never wrong. When Coulter-generated controversies inevitably arise, she attacks and reviles those who hold her accountable for her words and actions.[9]

Moreover, Coulter often has an agenda which is distinct from, and in opposition to, conservative principles. Consequently, Coulter vilifies those principled conservatives who oppose her.[10]

Coulter Hates Christians

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a Christian? Coulter claims: “I’m an extraordinarily good Christian.”[11]

Despite her claims of fealty to Christ, Coulter has attacked Christians for most of the past two decades.[12]

Coulter calls Christian missionaries “fake Christians,”[13] attacks Christians who are godly and promote godliness,[14] and opposes attempts to stop Christian genocide occurring overseas.[15]

Coulter even, with professed “blind worship,” champions a godless liberal as her “Savior.”[16] (Just a decade ago, Coulter pilloried everyone she regarded as godless liberals in her appropriately named book, Godless.  Now, pillories are passé and crosses are chic.)

Coulter Hates Pro-Lifers

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a pro-lifer? Coulter claims to be: “I am totally pro-life.”[17]

Contrary to her assertion, Coulter passionately attacks conservatives and Christians for pursuing a pro-life agenda.

As far back as the late 1990s, Coulter began attacking pro-lifers for purely political purposes.[18] Coulter blames pro-life “putzes” for Republican election defeats – because they pursue a pro-life agenda.

Coulter disparages pro-lifers as morons and cowards[19] for simply seeking to defund Planned Parenthood![20] She calls them “pathetic,” “weak-kneed” “sissies” and “pussies” trying “to prove their toughness by being pro-life.” Perhaps they are actually principled pro-lifers.

In reality, Coulter would have pro-lifers do nothing and let the unborn fend for themselves![21]

Coulter Hates Herself

But, wait, isn’t Coulter a narcissist? Yes![22] (Who knew?)

Even narcissists can experience self-doubt. More than that, two decades of compromising principles and behaving deceitfully[23] have taken their toll. In time, liars tend to believe their own lies. But each lie conflicts with a previous one until discerning the truth becomes like grasping the wind.

Coulter went from espousing principled positions[24] to behaving contrary to those very same principles. Confronted with her hypocrisy, she entered into a prolonged and deep denial[25] from which she has yet to recover. She eventually gave up trying to do the right thing.

The “mass of contradictions” in her life quickly snowballed out of control. In time, Coulter – all the while claiming she has never changed – dramatically changed her positions and views on almost everything.[26]

Consequently, huge swaths of the conservative movement, Christians, pro-lifers, libertarians, and the like now shun Coulter.[27] They will continue to do so until Coulter gets her act together. Even then, she will have to earn their trust.

Right now, Coulter is extremely confused, caught up in a mishmash of conflicting and confusing visions of herself[28]her self-identity[29] – and a worldview which has become warped from years of lies, treachery, and deceit.[30]

Ann is being tossed to and fro by the pragmatism of the moment and the passing whims of her heart.

Coulter hates conservatives, Christians, and pro-lifers for being what they are because she once believed she belonged in those categories. Now, whenever these people of principle act on their principles, she is put to shame as a charlatan. They expose Coulter for who she really is – a fraud.

Will Ann always be a fraud? Only God knows and only He can bring meaning and direction to her life. Unless and until Ann courageously faces the reality of who she has become and fights the good fight of faith to become the person God has called her to be, she will always be filled with hate and fear.

May God grant Ann repentance and transform her heart.

An Open Letter to Ann Coulter

Dear Ann:

You are willing to sacrifice all of your conservative principles and Christian beliefs to get Trump elected president, solely on the premise that Trump is the only candidate who is “good on immigration.” You admit that Trump is not a conservative and that he does lie.[1] Is Trump lying on immigration?

OpenLetter

Trump’s record and rhetoric on immigration suggest that he is lying about both the wall and deportation[2] of illegal immigrants.

Trump supported the Gang of Eight bill that you despise.

Trump hired illegal aliens at the expense of American workers.

Trump favors H-1B visas.

Trump would “negotiate” on both the wall and immigration.

Trump seeks touchback deportation to bring them back as quickly as possibleahead of the line: amnesty!

So, having sacrificed every principle and ideal you once held dear, you are supporting the one person you claim is good on immigration, and he is actually the worst on immigration.

If Trump wins the presidency, America gets a liberal similar to Hillary and amnesty![3]

You have sacrificed everything for nothing!

Moreover, you have viciously[4] attacked[5] the one candidate[6] who has a proven record of opposition to amnesty and fought for the preservation of American sovereignty: Ted Cruz![7]

You regard Trump as your and America’s Savior[8] and claim that you would marry Trump if he were available. You exalt Trump[9] above the heavens and absolve him of all his faults.

At the very same time, you demonize an actual conservative who is a strict constitutionalist and devout Christian and, ironically, is the only candidate who would do what you claim you want done about immigration.

Instead, you promote a bully[10] and a charlatan.[11]

If Trump wins the nomination and is victorious in the election, America has you to blame!

But it is not too late! Will you forsake your pride,[12] reverse course, and support the candidate who would actually do what you want to accomplish on immigration and who is also an actual conservative, constitutionalist, and Christian?

What is more important to you, Ann? Your pride or America’s future?

Bully Boy Trump!

The bully, Donald Trump, proved himself just a bloviating boy. In the end, bullies usually do.

David French related two key moments in the Houston debate.

Bull Boy Trump

First, The Donald insisted that Rubio “Be quiet. Just be quiet.” Why? Trump fears the truth, especially about himself.

As French put it, “An alpha male commands respect; a bully tries to rule by fear. But when no one is actually afraid, the bully looks foolish. When the bully demands silence but instead receives a sarcastic retort, he reveals that that his ‘strength’ was a mirage.”

George Will puts it this way: “Like all bullies, Trump is a coward, and like all those who feel the need to boast about being strong and tough, he is neither.”

Second, The Donald insisted that Cruz apologize. Why? Trump wants the truth, especially about himself, to go away. Trump wants to suppress the truth! Intimidation is his primary tactic to achieve that end.

French noted, “Once again, the bully made his demand, this time for an apology. Cruz refused to comply, and went on to make exactly the right point: that Trump would be the Democrats’ best ‘Republican’ friend.”

Rubio correctly characterized Trump as a “con artist,” a truth many have heralded since before Trump launched his presidential campaign. Cruz astutely noted that Trump cares nothing for the Constitution and would be a Barack Obama in whiteface.

As I and others have pointed out before, Trump is a braggart and a bully who holds neither conservative principles nor a Christian ethos. Jonah Goldberg argues, “His cheap macho posturing and boasting is simply tacky.”

Trump is, as Andrew McCarthy describes, “a fraud – a liberal Democrat posing as the Republican savior.” Transfixed by Trump, some people still “blindly worship” him as their “Savior”!

McCarthy outlines, on issue after issue, the fraudulent nature of Trump’s politics, persona, and character.

It is important to stress Trump’s own purported self-image, concocted for the moment, to garner votes. After the Houston debate, he claimed, “I’m a strong Christian.” On another occasion, he claimed, “nobody reads the Bible more than me.” Goldberg noted, “Either Donald Trump believes what he said, or he doesn’t. If he does believe this, he’s sufficiently delusional to disqualify himself for public office. If he doesn’t believe this, he thinks his conservative Christian supporters are morons.”

Trump also alleges, “I’m very conservative,” adding, “I’m the most conservative person in the world” on a host of issues. Even New York Magazine called him out on that one.

But Trump is following in the footsteps of his consigliere, Ann Coulter, who regards herself as both an exemplary conservative and extraordinary Christian. Coulter boasts, “I’m like the conservative ayatollah” and “I’m an extraordinarily good Christian.”

As an example of her good judgment and proof of her conservative and Christian credentials, Coulter said that she would actually marry Trump if he were available. Maybe they should (after his fourth divorce). They are made for each other.

Coulter Admits Trump is a Fraud

Ann Coulter admits that Donald Trump is a FRAUD!

Trump is a Fraud

In yesterday’s column, Coulter wrote, “That’s why it doesn’t matter when Trump pops off and says things that are not conservative orthodoxy – or even true!”

Her very next sentence begins, “Even if you think Trump is a libertine, shallow narcissist …”

So, according to Coulter, Trump is not a conservative, says things that are not “even true” and may well be “a libertine, shallow narcissist.”

(Strikingly, Coulter does not care that Trump’s claims are not “even true,” yet she blindly believes in his empty promises. Devoid of truth herself, Coulter believes what she wants to believe!)

As National Review observes, “Donald Trump is a habitual liar, and the thing about habitual liars is that they lie habitually.” Those selfsame words could easily apply to Coulter, who shares various[1] Trumpian traits of rhetoric and style, narcissism and hubris.[2] Hence, she is smitten with her mirror image (and falling prey to her very own tricks).[3]

Nevertheless, Coulter considers Trump her – and America’s – Savior![4]

Yet another Coulter-backed RINO, a Trump nomination for the GOP or a third-party run would spell doom for Conservatism and America as we once knew it.[5] Coulter knows this and wants this.[6]

Why? It furthers her ambitions to recreate a WASP America.[7]

More importantly, Trump fulfills her fantasy of being the Harriet Beecher Stowe of the New Trump Party.[8]

Trump’s claim to fame is being anti-Establishment. Trump is not anti-Establishment. Trump IS the Establishment. Trump epitomizes corporate cronyism and vulture capitalism.

Trump is about as anti-Establishment as Communist China was anti-Communist during its internecine power struggle with the Soviet Union.

This election has never been a battle between Trump and the Establishment, but rather, it is a power struggle within and among the elites. (Ted Cruz is the real anti-Establishment warrior in this contest!)
