Ann Coulter’s definition of “normal” is someone just like her.

In her latest column (11/16/16), Coulter argued that “the consequence of the Democratic Party’s decision in the 1970s [was] to get rid of all the normal people.”

Hearing Coulter – lover of words like “retarded” and defender of going “full-on spastic retard” – (for the sheer joy of being offensive) – use the word “normal” with regard to people almost be deemed Hitlerian.

Taken in the context of the Alt-Right’s rise to power this election cycle – an Alt-Right which would relish jettisoning the majority of mankind into the dustbin of history – Coulter speaking of “normal people” takes on far greater significance.

Remember, Coulter truly hates soccer – because it is “foreign” – and hates all foreigners and immigrants. especially Mexicans. Coulter even hates Christian missionaries for going to foreign countries.

She hates Gov. Nikki Haley for being an ignorant second-generation immigrant (meaning, she is a native-born American with foreign parents).

Coulter’s views can arguably be called anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic. She even attacks war heroes and Gold Star families.

Coulter’s hatred also extends to other Americans. She loves to call Democrats Nazis, crazy, and demonic.

Coulter hates Carly Fiorina and the GOP. Ben Carson does not fare well with Coulter. She has had a love-hate relationship with Ted Cruz. Once a Reagan-lover, Coulter now derides Reagan and his legacy.

For Coulter, “normal people” are just like her. But there aren’t too many of them because she is genetically superior to us.

The Alt-Right’s view of the world is distinctly nativist, racist, and supremacist. Ann Coulter is its high priestess and its muse.

Warped Alt-Right Worldview

Alt-Right high priestess Ann Coulter has repeatedly called Gov. Nikki Haley an ignorant “second-generation immigrant.” Has she now extended that verdict to all non-WASPs?

In a recent tweet, Coulter confused a native-born South Carolinian of Indian Sikh ancestry with a Native American.

Apparently one “Indian” looks like another to her. Actually, for the Alt-Right, anyone who is not a WASP is an alien.

Coulter – Face of the Alt-Right

Donald Trump’s chief propagandist and cheerleader, Ann Coulter, is the face of the alt-Right.

Coulter has been a prominent member of the alt-Right community for decades. Over the past two years, Coulter’s beliefs and character have been exposed as never before. This is particularly problematic given her position as advisor to and promoter of the GOP presidential nominee. Her current book, In Trump We Trust, is a fawning tribute to failing candidate.

The alt-Right, according to Jonah Goldberg, “want[s] to replace the conservative movement.” That is Coulter’s goal, too: Destroy and replace.[1] Following are the core beliefs and attitudes of the alt-Right movement as exemplified by Coulter.

Anti-Semitic

Coulter’s anti-Semitic roots go back to the early 1990s           [2] when she worked for, consecutively, two Jewish-run law firms in New York City. Her anti-Semitism exploded[3] last year[4] during the presidential debates and recently re-emerged[5] to the point[6] where a long-time friend tweeted, “I’m ashamed ever to have known you.”[7]

Anti-Catholic

Once raised Catholic,[8] Coulter now expresses deep animosity toward Catholics.[9] She calls them “moral show-offs” and “fake Christians.” [10]Her anti-Catholic sentiments have only grown worse[11] as she seeks to create a New Know-Nothing Party.[12]

Nativist

Coulter’s New Know-Nothing Party is modeled after the mid-19^th century version, complete with its America First, anti-immigrant rhetoric and platform. Her nativism runs deep[13] as she hates all immigrants[14] and even hates Christian missionaries[15] for going on overseas mission trips to save lives.

Coulter even trashed native-born Gov. Nikki Haley,[16] calling her an “ignorant immigrant.” Haley’s roots weren’t pure enough, unlike Coulter’s which trace back to the Puritans.[17]

Racist

Race figures prominently in Coulter’s worldview[18] and remarkably so. Yet, she remains very confused in her racial constructions,[19] regards diversity as white,[20] seeks a restoration of a white WASP nation,[21] and argues that she and Trump deserve a “racism credit”[22] for seeking to help blacks even as she advocates for her own (white) racial grievance industry.[23]

Neo-Confederate

To that end, Coulter adopts and furthers neo-Confederate ideas,[24] continually defends the Confederacy and Confederate flag, and has actually confused the Confederate and American flags![25]

Coulter’s (and Trump’s) America is one where the elite few (like Coulter and Trump) would determine the nature of our national identity[26] at the expense of individual liberty,[27] the Constitution,[28] and our founding ideals.[29]

If one is truly America first, then one must be #NeverTrump!

Coulter Confuses Confederate and American Flags

Astonishing! Ann Coulter thinks Southerners who died in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan were fighting for the Confederacy!

Coulter wrote (8/3/16): “Southerners accounted for 38 percent of those killed in Iraq and 47 percent in Afghanistan.” She then asked Gov. Haley: “How about Nikki put their flag back up?”

Lest we be confused – or for those who don’t remember the Confederate Flag controversy – Coulter continued,

“The Confederate flag won’t lead to thousands of dead and maimed Americans, as Muslim immigration does. The only danger posed by the Confederate flag is that media elites will hold the South in even greater contempt than they already do, assuming that’s possible.”

Yes, Coulter equates Southerners with Confederates and believes that our brave military members from the South are currently fighting for the Confederacy and not for America!

No, Ann, “Southerners” didn’t sacrificed their lives for the Lost Cause of the Confederacy. Rather, they died for the noble cause of the American Experiment and the belief that all men are, indeed, created equal.

Clearly, Coulter has never believed in that aspiration and ideal. For her, that Shining City on a Hill will never shine with immigrants. Indeed, America’s only hope in her eyes is the restoration of a WASP America.

Ann Coulter, Bimbo

Ann Coulter loves the words “bimbo,” “retarded,” “idiot,” “moron,” and similar words!

Is Coulter, by her own definition, a bimbo?

Simply put, Coulter loves to offend people[1] and, more importantly, she thinks she is smarter than[2] and superior to[3] everyone else. Everyone opposed to Coulter is, in her mind, a “useless idiot.”[4]

In Slander, Coulter asserted, “If liberal propaganda didn’t work, it would be impossible to comprehend bimbo starlets and uneducated slobs attacking the intelligence of the man who won the Cold War.”

(Ironically, Coulter now attacks those “idol-worshipping Ronald Reagan”[5] and laments, “These johnny-come-latelies to Reagan worship [who] seem to think that he was Jesus Christ and could do no wrong.”[6] Would that make Coulter a bimbo talking head?)

Coulter’s own propagandistic version[7] is to simply assert that everyone who disagrees with her is stupid, retarded, or a bimbo. Of course, Coulter’s ad hominem attacks actually work by shifting debates over substantive arguments to issues of free speech.

Coulter Proudly Calls Nikki Haley a Bimbo

A fascinating dialogue on the John Gibson Show[8] is instructive of Coulter’s temperament and Trumpian sense of self-importance. Asked if she was joking about deporting Gov. Nikki Haley, Coulter replied:

“Um, no. No, no, no, no. Yeah, [I think she should be deported]. Yeah, she won’t be governor anymore, I suspect.”

Then Coulter stepped on a linguistic landmine, as is her wont:

“I think she’s a bimbo and, um, you know, having a black Indian do such a fantastic job in a response to the State of the Union, yeah, they picked her to be, to be …”

At this point, Coulter was interrupted by the host, her decades-long friend from her MSNBC days in 1996-97. Gibson asked if her characterization was “kosher.”

Coulter erupted, “What do you mean, ‘kosher?’ Is it true or isn’t it? You’re policing my language? I’m saying something I think is true. I think she is a bimbo!”

Naturally, Coulter never explained how it is true – and the host never asked. (They rarely do.)

Irate at being, in her mind, censored by political correctness, Coulter petulantly queried, “What is that? Do we have to add that to the list of words that can’t be used now, because the list is getting bigger than the dictionary?” (Proper grace and decorum never seem to register with Ann.)

Going with the flow, Coulter then defined what a bimbo is rather than use the term: “Yeah, a not very bright female. Actually, they’re not always females but they often have those qualities, the feminine qualities.”

Notice, Coulter, as she is prone to do, includes liberal men in her definition and regards those qualities as distinctly feminine in nature.

Contemptuous of being asked not to engage in name-calling, Coulter again erupted, “You’re joking!” Continuing, Coulter immediately asked, “Can you email me a list of what words can’t be used?” Then she defiantly said, “Bimbo!”

Still not done, Coulter addressed the GOP’s decision to choose Haley to give a rebuttal to Obama’s State of the Union address. Coulter pondered, “It’s going to be hard to describe how she was chosen. She’s a, a, a, a woman who was accidentally elected, um, because she’s pretty and isn’t very bright. Can we say that?”

In other words, a bimbo. However, Coulter never explained why being a bimbo would be a qualification for that choice – or for anything, for that matter.

Continuing her rant, and incorporating her unisex definition of the word in dispute, Coulter lambasted South Carolinian Republicans, saying, “they have the worst representatives. … Lindsey Graham is South Carolina. … Lindsey Graham and Nikki Haley? Lindsey Graham – also a bimbo!”

(Whenever exchanges like this take place, Coulter is implacably impenitent.[9])

Is Ann Coulter a Bimbo?

As noted above, Coulter offered her preferred definition of “bimbo” – someone who is “pretty and isn’t very bright.” We can work with that.[10]

Remember, it’s been over a decade since Coulter so eloquently said, “I’m so pleased with my gender. We’re not that bright.”[11] Proof of Coulter’s contention regarding herself abounds![12]

Just a few weeks ago, Coulter claimed that the Great Depression[13] was “the most prosperous period in American history.”[14] Need I say more?

Consider, too, Coulter’s own self-revelation. In 2003, she admitted, “Ann Coulter engages in ad hominem attacks. Ann Coulter is insane.”[15] 13 years later, her long-time friend, Sean Hannity, finally reached the same conclusion, saying, “You crack me up, but you’re insane.”[16]

Coulter Still Lying After All These Years

In her propagandistic column last week,[1] Coulter offered up 11 examples of “non-white immigrant” “mass murder” from 1993-2015. Coulter’s list is nonsensical and meaningless, but meaningless with a mission – to promote her own agenda.[2]

Coulter cleverly culled 11 examples from over the space of 23 years to prove that non-white immigrants are more dangerous that white citizens.

Her list is fraudulent, emphasizing the race/origin of the culprits while ignoring the reason or motivation for the violence.[3] Indeed, she does what so many on the Left do: conflate crime, insane shooting sprees, and terrorism – as if they were the same.[4]

Combining a botched robbery, shooting sprees by the mentally ill, and coordinated attacks by Islamic terrorists negates any possibility of developing a clear profile or strategy to combat or deter the violence.

Coulter’s List of Non-White Immigrant Villains

Notice that Coulter’s 11 examples of non-white immigrant mass shootings include seven incidents by the mentally ill, one botched robbery (which, by definition, is not a mass shooting), one incident of workplace violence (and probably mental illness as well), and one coldly calculated terrorist attack.

Coulter’s contrived list of “immigrants” committing crimes is just that – contrived. Coulter knows the truth. Just two months ago, Coulter wrote (emphasis added): But I notice that every mass murder is committed by someone who is mentally ill. When the common denominator is a characteristic found in about 0.1 percent of the population – I think we’ve found the crucial ingredient!”[5]

Nevertheless, Coulter now distinguishes between non-white immigrant shootings and white non-immigrant shootings, all to promote her anti-immigrant book and agenda.

Mental illness is defined by neither race nor ethnic origin. Neither is it confined to one’s immigration or citizenship status. Coulter used her column to distract from the Islamic jihad[6] taking place as she wrote her column and to thrust immigration back into the spotlight.

Coulter’s Obsession with Whites

Throughout her book tour, Coulter has lionized whites as the Founders of America and saviors of the world[7] and vilified non-WASP cultures[8] as “primitive,” “savage,” “barbarian.” Indeed, for Coulter, “all immigrants are bad.”[9]

In her column, Coulter correctly indicted the media with an anti-white bias, writing, “The media are tickled pink whenever they have a white perpetrator because it happens so rarely in a country that is majority white.”

Coulter’s conclusion, however, is fraudulent. She claims (emphasis added): “After 20 years of nearly non-stop mass murder by non-white immigrants in a country that is still majority white, our media have the audacity to claim that tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims are less dangerous than the most pacific human beings in world history: 21st-century white American men.”

Coulter was very selective in her choice of mass shootings to highlight (almost all of them derived from her book) to place an anti-immigrant slant to the discussion. Of course, she ignored many high-profile cases which refute her contention that “the most pacific human beings in world history [are] 21st-century white American men.”

We could begin with Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, whose 1999 Columbine, CO, massacre has become the model and inspiration for others. Harris and Klebold killed 13 and injured 21.

Here are a few of the more recent “mass shootings” committed by Coulter’s “pacific” white men:

As with Coulter’s anti-immigrant list, most of the perpetrators listed above committed mayhem while mentally ill. One could argue the white supremacist in this list is also mentally ill. Immigration status had nothing to do with any of these tragedies. Whiteness – or Otherness – is not germane.

From the beginning, the San Bernardino attack had all the hallmarks of a Paris-style terrorist attack. The only question was by whom. In an astonishing tweet, Coulter totally missed the mark, tweeting: “This was an amazingly prescient column. I should have gone with my original subhead: ODDS ARE IT’S NOT WHITE MEN.”

Coulter, obsessed with race,[10] fails to grasp that this was an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack on U.S. soil – just as her column dismissed the threat posed by ISIS to Americans in America.

Coulter was wrong at the beginning of this year when she claimed “ISIS is not on our doorstep”[11] and she is wrong now when she shrugs off domestic terrorism.[12]

Stop Immigrants, Not Terrorists!

Ann Coulter’s column on the San Bernardino, Paris-style massacre by an Islamist couple repeats her year-long refrain: Stop Immigrants, Not Terrorists.

Perhaps inhabited by the spirit of Obama,[1] Coulter cannot admit that ISIS and other Islamists[2] pose a deadly threat to Americans in America. Instead, she conflates immigrants with terrorists and focuses exclusively on the former while ignoring the latter.

Like the Black Lives Matter group that was incensed over the recent Paris attack[3] – not for the carnage wrought but for taking the spotlight off of them – Coulter was equally incensed that her pet cause (immigration) was overshadowed by the deadliest attack in France since World War II.[4]

Coulter deliberately conflates routine criminal activity and abnormal killing sprees conducted by the mentally ill[5] with terrorism perpetrated by Islamists intent on destroying America.[6]

Coulter’s response to the San Bernardino mayhem is to focus exclusively on the immigrants[7] and deny the Islamist threat already here.[8] Most of the examples Coulter regularly cites are of Hispanic immigrant crime, not Islamist terrorism.[9]

Coulter’s solution is to stop the influx of immigrants and refugees into America. But, at the same time, Coulter has no interest in stopping the Islamists who are already here. Rather, she denies that they even exist!

In denying the threat, Coulter preempts any possibility of combating that clear and present danger.

When Coulter discusses “immigrants” she includes native-born Americans.

For Coulter, unless your family traces its pedigree back to the Mayflower, you are not a real American.[10] Coulter falsely called Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) an ignorant immigrant.[11] In Coulter’s world, even Jews and Catholics are suspect.[12] In fact, Coulter refuses to countenance refugee status for tens of thousands of Christians being martyred by ISIS and other Islamists.[13]

As events unfolded in San Bernardino, Coulter tweeted (emphasis added): “Forget the terrorism, crime, welfare etc. Why are we bringing in ppl who are ugly? My Tinder immigration application process much better.” For Coulter, the only thing that matters is immigration. ISIS? Not at all.

Coulter opposes all immigration, claims all immigrants are bad,[14] and frequently cites selective statistics and specific horrific crimes by immigrants as if they were normative for the entire immigrant population. Coulter is wrong. Most immigrants are not bad people.

On the other hand, all Islamists (even those in America right now) are bad people. Failing to recognize that, and to profile accordingly to prevent future massacres, will ensure that future massacres do occur.

Coulter Aghast at ISIS Coverage

[There’s Far Too Much of It]

Ann Coulter’s entire column this week was specifically designed to be a wet blanket to the firestorm of ISIS coverage because she wants the entire conversation to be about immigration.

Hence her denial that ISIS poses a threat to America.

Emulating Black Lives Matter, which was so incensed at innocent Parisian victims stealing their spotlight that they expressed profanity-laden hatred toward them, Coulter is irate that people are concerned about ISIS and refugees at the expense of her own pet cause – immigration.

It does not matter to Coulter that France experienced its own 9/11 or that ISIS has proven both its intent and ability to inflict monumental harm on the West in its pursuit of establishing a global caliphate.

No! Coulter cares only about immigration, which she constantly says “is the only thing that matters.”

Coulter’s column reeks of anger. Why is Coulter so angry?

Coulter evinced no shock, horror, or outrage at this horrific tragedy besetting innocent people. Instead, Coulter expressed contempt for those people. Even as civilians were dying, Coulter attacked the French people who were being slaughtered by Belgian terrorists.

Coulter’s anger, like that of Black Lives Matter, arose for precisely the same reason: the Paris terror attacks took the spotlight away from what she cares about – the only thing she cares about – immigration.

On the Night of November 13^th

As the Paris attacks unfolded, Coulter retweeted twice. Her first: “If France responds appropriately, they’ll be called fascists. If they don’t, the fascists will keep murdering them.” As it turns out, the French responded appropriately.

Coulter’s first tweet was in response to “Gunmen shouted ‘Allah Akbar’” – she tweeted: “But it would be too expensive to deport them. That’s not an ‘adult’ solution.” Even at the beginning, Coulter was obsessed with immigration!

Even as the carnage and horror were ongoing, Coulter’s tweets were all political and derisive:

• How does one say “Illegal immigration is an act of love” in French?

• How does one say “DREAMERS” in French?

• HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? French people ran onto the street with signs that said, ‘Je Suis Charlie’! Why didn’t that stop this?

• Obama just canceled a speech about closing Gitmo.

• Paris death toll up to 100. U.S. college students need to tell Parisians about real violence from Halloween costumes & “trigger words.”

• ANGER? We can’t even deport 3rd world pouring in, committing murder, child rape, Ft Hood, 9/11 etc. It’s not “adult” com/JackChaerea/st… [Coulter responded to this tweet: “Anger is the appropriate response. Those who do not feel angered by this are defective in the head.”]

• Diversity is a strength!

• All we need is people rushing to the street with candles and we’ll have these savages on the run! com/Jomamuh/status…

• Too bad there were no concealed carry permits … anywhere in Europe … since 1818.

Coulter Emulates Obama

All year long, Coulter denied the Islamist threat that ISIS poses to Americans. To this very day, she still denies it. Coulter denies the existence and work of ISIS in the American homeland.

Emulating Obama, who dismisses the ISIS threat and refuses to even name Islamic terrorism, Coulter dismisses the ISIS threat and refuses to acknowledge its existence in the heartland of America.

Al-Qaeda morphed into ISIS. In that sense, ISIS is Al-Qaeda by another name. It is preposterous to insist, as Coulter does, that ISIS is not here in America. It has been since before 9/11. To suggest otherwise is ludicrous.

In an interview on The Drive Home (11/19/15), Coulter claimed: “ISIS didn’t stage 9/11 – that was different Third World immigrants. ISIS didn’t stage the Boston Marathon bombing – that was again different Third World immigrants.”

Sorry, Ann, but Al-Qaeda was ISIS in embryonic form. Other domestic terrorists have been inspired by ISIS.

FBI counterterrorism expert Dr. Sebastian Gorka warns that “ISIS is among us.” He claims “82 ISIS suspects [were] arrested in America in a 20 month period” and remarked that “FBI director James Comey had warned there are up to 900 ISIS-related investigations in all 50 states.”

In just the past year, 72 U.S. residents have been arrested on terrorist-related charges. Moreover, ISIS sleeper cells have been planted in America for years.

Breitbart reports “that over 250 people from the United States have attempted to join ISIS, according to a report from the House Homeland Security Committee. Also, some 82 individuals in the United States have been interdicted by federal agents as part of ISIS plots, according to a database compiled by Threat Knowledge Group.”

Tariq Aziz lives in Ann Coulter. [Aziz famously said that Iraq was secure even as Baghdad was being captured.]

France Should be Commended, Not Condemned

With the abdication of American leadership on the war on terror, France stepped up to the plate. Consequently, France has been the target of multiple attacks by ISIS (many of them, fortunately, thwarted). The terror cell which conducted the Paris attacks was also responsible for at least four previously foiled terrorist attacks and had been planning many more.

Today, Islamic terrorists have seized a hotel in the former French colony of Mali, killing at least three and seizing about 170 hostages, some of them American.

ISIS intends to subdue all opposition to its globalist plans and it currently sees France as its greatest threat. It seeks to takedown France as an object lesson to every other Western nation. If France is deterred, who in the West will be left to combat Islamist aggression.

Coulter is acting as a Quisling isolationist.

Coulter Flips Out, Again!

[Terrorists and immigrants are all alike!]

Ann Coulter has proven herself nothing more than a partisan hack, self-promoter, and shill for Donald Trump.

Not that long ago, Coulter insisted – against all reason, logic, and evidence – that Islamic jihadists posed no threat to the American homeland. Now, Coulter claims that immigrants are just like terrorists.

The pacifist Left rejects the very existence of Islamic terrorism, while, since 9/11, Coulter proclaims “all terrorists are Muslim.” Now, Coulter adds immigrants (non-Muslim as well) to the list. This is particularly surprising since Coulter claims 20-plus years studying immigration and has spearheaded a jihad against jihadists since the Twin Towers fell.

In her deliberately obtuse column this week, Coulter made some startling assertions. First, Coulter denies Islamic jihadism in America. Coulter’s denials of the Islamist threat in America preceded the publication of her latest book, continued throughout her book tour – even after jihadists attacked a cartoon contest – and she continues to dismiss the truth that the FBI is conducting ISIS-related investigations in all 50 states!

Coulter follows the Obama administration’s penchant for playing semantic games, distinguishing between various jihadist groups (was it ISIS, ISIL, Al-Qaeda, some other outfit), when they are all part of the same Islamic jihadist paradigm. They are all fighting for the same cause, seeking the same goal – an Islamic caliphate.

Yet, Coulter writes: “Not to be a stickler, but ISIS didn’t slaughter 3,000 Americans on 9/11, blow up the Boston Marathon, murder thirteen Americans at Fort Hood, or open fire on a military recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.” But, they were all Islamic jihadists!

Second, Coulter continually conflates immigrants with terrorists, as if they were the same.

In yesterday’s column, Coulter repeatedly dismisses ISIS and again insists the threat to America is from immigration. Her column title, “When the Third World Attacks!” misses the point: Westerners were not attacked by the Third World; Westerners were attacked by Islamic jihadists. Coulter, an adept propagandist, uses the Paris terrorist attack to stigmatize all immigrants (mostly from non-Muslim origins).

Coulter argues, that “50 years of the most backward, dysfunctional cultures pouring into the civilized world” have led to attacks by “immigrants” (not terrorists!). She claims: “second-generation immigrants are just as likely to shoot up Fort Hood as the first-generation Tsarnaev brothers are to blow up the Boston Marathon.” She calls these terrorists first- and second-generation immigrants to denigrate all immigrants.

Coulter decries the “endless flow of Third World immigrants” and “Stone Age people,” glossing over the realty that it is a particular group of Third World immigrants which is responsible for terrorism.

She makes the further claim of all immigrants: “We can’t assimilate them.” Again, Coulter is wrong. Many immigrants assimilate quite well in a nation which they love, even despite all the efforts of multiculturalists to turn America into a salad bowl instead of a melting pot. Identity politics is a major problem in this regard and Coulter embraces it with fervor.

Moreover, Coulter fails to discern what makes these Islamists unique.

Coulter comes close to the truth when she writes, “The Paris terrorists were 100 percent Middle Eastern, although most were born in Muslim ghettos in Europe.” But she again misses the point: Muslim enclaves are unique among those groups which self-segregate.

They espouse anti-Western and anti-Jewish sentiments as they teach Wahhabism in classrooms and preach it in Mosques. From childhood, whole communities are immersed in this virulent ideology. That makes them different from other immigrants. That turns them into terrorists!

For nearly two decades, Coulter has promoted racial profiling to catch religious extremists. Now, to target terrorists and criminals, Coulter wants to profile all immigrants (first, second, and, perhaps even third generation).

Coulter attacked native-born Gov. Nikki Haley for being an “immigrant” and contends that “all immigrants are bad.” In her column, Coulter defends xenophobia, because she is herself a xenophobe.

Unrestrained hyperbole helped launch Coulter’s controversy-packed career and it may well spell its demise.

Ann Coulter’s “Real” Americans Fallacy

While one can applaud Coulter’s efforts to reform America’s immigration policy, her conclusions are nonsensical and shameful.

Coulter identifies immigration – both legal and illegal – as the preeminent, overarching challenge of our time, beyond which all other issues pale in comparison. Her passion and conviction may well carry the day for the hearts and minds of many Americans. But is she right?

Coulter summarized her thesis on the Joyce Kaufman Show,[1] again asserting that the only issue of importance is immigration. Every other issue is subordinated to her issue (and the subject of the book she is currently hawking.) Coulter claims that – once we have settled the immigration issue – everything else will sort itself out.

After we have resolved the immigration crisis, Coulter claims, “I am confident that America will do the right thing on all the issues we care about, from abortion to gay marriage to Iran deals. The rest will sort itself out. The biggest problem right now is that Americans are being outvoted by foreigners.”

Coulter made similar claims in the 2012 and 2014 elections, asserting that conservatives just need to elect Republicans[2] to restore the America she loves. A decisive GOP landslide in 2014[3] petered out on election night, with a Republican congress acceding to most of President Obama’s demands.[4] Coulter has yet to learn that a RINO is a RINO is a RINO.[5]

Coulter was wrong then and she is wrong now!

Does Coulter really think that “on all the issues we care about, from abortion to gay marriage to Iran deals” will be fixed once we’ve dealt with post-1970s immigration? All of the cultural issues Coulter claims to care about became issues prior to post-1970’s immigration.

Immigration is Not THE Problem

Coulter’s nativism and xenophobia[6] have gotten out of hand, as she vilifies all immigrants[7] and even condemns Christians[8] who are overseas missionaries.[9] With her latest book and book tour, Coulter is actually promoting restoration of a WASP culture – a white culture.[10]

With carefully-selected anecdotes and statistics, Coulter seeks to prove that immigration is the source of all of America’s woes. Moreover, she claims that even second-generation immigrants (especially those from non-Western European nations) are somehow not really “American.”[11] Her thesis is that, once immigration is halted and foreigners are deported, America will be restored to greatness by the “real” Americans who remain.

But immigration is not the problem Coulter makes it out to be and following Coulter’s prescription to counter that crisis will not achieve the utopia Coulter envisions. History itself disputes Coulter’s thesis. The problem is not immigrants but ideas.

The American progressive movement has been populated by “real” Americans for over a century.

American progressives brought us the New Deal, the Great Society, and Obamacare. American progressives created Planned Parenthood, enacted Jim Crow, and decided Roe. V. Wade.

American progressives were apologists for first Hitler, then Stalin, then Castro. American progressives were useful idiots throughout the Cold War and supported the communist regime in Cuba for half-a-century. (Coulter apparently forgot about that “massive” bestseller which posits Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism.)

American progressives led the anti-war movement and the sexual revolution. American progressives infiltrated academia, Hollywood, the media, and government.

American progressives have ruled over major metropolitan cities for over fifty years, implementing policies which have devastated cities and incited racial violence (e.g., Detroit, Ferguson,[12] Baltimore[13]) while ignoring black-on-black violence. Changing immigration policy would not reverse those trends. These problems are, at heart, ideological and cultural,[14] not racial.

The root causes of the problems and crises America faces today predate the post-1970s immigration of Third World immigrants that Coulter vilifies. Mexicans are not the monsters Coulter depicts.[15]

Coulter’s claim to fame as a polemicist and provocateur arose from her targeting of entire groups of people as evil villains seeking to destroy America and civilization itself. With her latest book, subtitled The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country Into a Third World Hellhole, Coulter impugns the motives, character, and patriotism of everyone who disagrees with her.[16]

A decade ago, Coulter blamed everything on the Left. Now, she blames everything on immigrants. In another decade, will she blame everything on space aliens?
