Ann Coulter’s Flights of Fantasy

Given her frequent flights of fantasy, one wonders why anyone listens to Ann Coulter.

Recently, Coulter insisted that she could arrange a détente which would yield her Dream Ticket: Trump-Romney.[1] Simply delusional. Since then, Coulter has been spiraling downward.[2]

Fantasy

Coulter has redefined terms, such as “real American,” traitor,” and “patriot,” spoken of vast conspiracies, and displayed paranoia.

Employing a variety of Orwellian techniques, Coulter has become a propagandist who is no longer able to discern fact from fantasy.

Real Americans!

Yesterday, Stephen Nemo made some absurd claims. His introductory paragraph asserted: “Ann Coulter is hated by Democrats, but she’s also a pariah among Republicans. Why? She still believes in conservatism and the rule of law.”

Nemo has drunk the Coulter-aid.

In truth, Coulter abandoned Conservatism[3] and Christianity[4] many years ago. As for the rule of law, why is she constantly lying about it? Coulter continues to lie about Supreme Court[5] cases[6] in order to influence national politics.

The person Coulter said she blindly worships as her Savior,[7] The Donald, is not a conservative![8] Moreover, Trump cares about what is best for Trump,[9] not for America.

As evidence for his claim of Coulter’s fidelity to conservatism and the rule of law, Nemo quoted a recent Coulter column: “Conservative pundits keep assuring clueless [television] viewers that Trump is not a ‘real Republican.’”

Nemo omitted these words from her essay: “I certainly hope he’s not a ‘real Republican.’” Nemo did, however, continue with her next words: “I know he’s a real American. Those used to be the same thing.”

In other words, “real Republicans” are no longer “real Americans.”

For decades, Coulter has defined who “real Americans” are per her own malleable standards. As I noted last September,[10] Coulter was wrong then and she is wrong now!

Coulter defines not only who Americans are but she also pinpoints where the traitors can be found.

Treason Without Reason

Displaying both hyperbole and paranoia on steroids, Coulter tweeted (emphasis added): “Fox News & Cruz are American traitors, in league with the liberal establishment. Silent majority must face fire from a unified oligarchy.”[11]

American Thinker provided the Cruz quote which prompted “Coulter foaming at the mouth.” After condemning the violence at Trump’s rally in Chicago, Cruz said, “when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discourse.”

American Thinker correctly observed: “Never mind that the ‘unified oligarchy’ Coulter decries is a unified oligarchy elected by the American people; the main point is that every word, every syllable, every letter of the above quote is absolutely and verifiably true.” (He then provided a surfeit of details.)

Upon hearing of Rubio’s epic defeat in his home state of Florida, Coulter again furthered her treason motif, tweeting (emphasis added), “Media’s favorite line tonight: Rubio lost because he was too optimistic. Yeah, the whole treason thing had nothing to do with it.”[12]

In 2003, Coulter declared as traitors everyone who disagreed with even just one item of the GOP platform. To her, all Democrats and liberals were guilty of treason. Now, Coulter calls Republicans, conservatives, and Christians[13] “traitors” for disagreeing with her on one single issue: immigration.

Back then, the entirety of the Left were treasonous in Coulter’s eyes. Now, a huge swath on the Right have joined their ranks. Oh, and, by the way, Coulter’s definition of “treason” is not a legal one, but an elastic one dependent upon her own personal whim. Moreover, Coulter misuses the term for its effect as emotional vernacular to bypass reason and facts.

Propaganda With Paranoia

A gifted linguist, Coulter is, indeed, adept at propaganda. She knows how to manipulate language to manipulate people. Orwell’s Newspeak and doublethink could have been designed just for her.[14]

Since the release of her latest book, Coulter’s commentary has been replete with errors[15] and outright fabrications. Who knew that the Great Depression “was the most prosperous period in American history?”[16]

One particular tweet required a great deal of chutzpah to publish (as well as a certain disdain for her readership). Gloating over Trump’s Florida victory, Coulter tweeted (emphasis added), “To beat Rubio, Trump had to beat: Fox, entire MSM, National Review, Salem Radio, every major GOP donor…MAYBE VOTERS WANT LESS IMMIGRATION!”[17]

The entire tweet in all of its particulars is incorrect. Coulter consistently claims a conspiracy among political and media elites to foil Trump’s candidacy. According to Coulter, Fox News is part of that grand conspiracy.

Fox News? Matt Walsh recently exposed her lies on this, writing, “All the other dull, blathering Trump sycophants on Fox News, like Andrea Tantaros and Eric Bolling and Kimberly Guilfoyle and other various Trump shills who’ve now taken to declaring that ‘principles don’t matter.’ The Fox morning show team hands airtime to Trump whenever he demands it, and they sit in admiration listening to him blabber on like infatuated school boys pretending to be interested in what the pretty girl in class is saying. But they’re of course not as bad as Joe Scarborough over on MSNBC, who was recently caught on camera taking instructions from Trump about what questions he can ask.”

Walsh continued: “Trump and his groupies complain that Fox is ‘unfair’ to him, but those of us who haven’t had our brains cooked by Trump fever recognize that, with the exceptions of Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, Greg Gutfeld and a few others, the entire network slobbers over him like a cheerleader fainting when the varsity quarterback asks her to the prom.”

As of January 26, 2016, Donald Trump had already appeared on Fox News and Fox Business News 132 times[18] – far more than any other candidate. That number has undoubtedly skyrocketed since then.

Entire MSM? The mainstream media is hardly a monolith and it has provided more coverage of Trump than any other candidate in any other election in history. It covers Trump rallies and speeches, often without commentary, while overlooking other candidates. Trump gets air time whenever he wants it. Also, Trump has bullied many media outlets into acquiescence.

The Media Research Center frequently notes the disparate coverage afforded Trump at the expense of his opponents, even in GOP debates. Most recently, Breitbart, known as Trump’s personal Pravda, has come under fire for covering up Trump scandals and betraying its reporters and readers.

The Sun Times reported that the media “gave Trump $400 million worth of free coverage in just one month’s time.” In total, Trump has received about $2 billion in free air time.

Back in 1999, Coulter was incensed at any publicity that Sen. John McCain received during his 2000 election campaign. Coulter asked of McCain, “Courageous, independent, or bought?” and accused him of “shilling [for] the newspaper industry in return for favors worth millions of dollars in campaign donations.”[19]

Is Trump shilling now?

National Review? National Review is one of the few media outlets actually opposed to Trump, not out of treasonous hatred for America but, rather, with fervor for journalistic integrity, the Constitution, liberty, conservatism, and the rule of law. (Yes, conservatism and the rule of law, Mr. Nemo.)

While the “entire MSM” has failed to focus on Trump’s moral and business failings, National Review put together “a comprehensive roundup of the man’s disastrous [business] record.”

Salem Radio? Salem Radio is hardly part of a Vast Left and Right Wing Conspiracy. Sadly, many Christian leaders have actually jumped aboard the Trump bandwagon, seemingly willing to abandon both biblical and conservative principles for the elevation of someone they regard as a protector of their rights and freedoms. However, Trump is merely a bloviating bully[20] with disdain for the Constitution and he would govern with his own version of Obama’s pen and a phone.[21]

Every Major GOP Donor? GOP donors were hardly united against Trump. Many funded attacks against Cruz, Trump’s biggest rival.

Immigration? Immigration – Trump’s (and Coulter’s) signature issue – regularly places around fourth in exit polling, demonstrating that Coulter is wrong about the reason for Trump’s success thus far. Voters are outraged, want change, and are looking for a strongman to forcefully reverse the course our government is presently on.

Ironically, Coulter’s zealous devotion to Trump is itself predicated on a lie. Coulter insists that Trump is the best candidate on her core issue – immigration – yet, Trump has proven himself a fraud on immigration.[22] Trump admits he is flexible on immigration and he actually promotes amnesty (“touchback deportation”). To ensure a Trump victory, Coulter has repeatedly[23] lied[24] about Ted Cruz,[25] the one candidate who has a proven record of defending the border and preserving our national sovereignty.

Coulter v. Coulter on Trump’s Invincibility

Finding examples of Ann Coulter contradicting herself is easy, but finding another Coulter who refutes her is a rarity. Dr. Michael Coulter does just that.

Coulter v Coulter

Writing for the Center for Vision and Values, Dr. Coulter predicts “what would likely happen in a Donald Trump versus Hillary Clinton race: Clinton would win, and probably by a wide margin.”

Examining historical data, polling data, voting trends, and favorability ratings, Dr. Coulter concludes that “The Trump campaign is like one of those outlandish business ideas, like personal travel to the moon, that has some potential customers, but it doesn’t have a winning business plan.”

In contrast, Ms. Coulter recently tweeted: “We win or lose with Trump and only Trump.”

Ann Coulter is half-right: We lose “with Trump and only Trump.”

As I pointed out last July,[1] even if Trump wins the GOP nomination and general election, America and Conservatives lose. The Donald is a liberal fashioned in the image of Hillary and Barack. (Indeed, he is more grandiose than they, with “The” preceding his name.)

But the much more likely scenario, as Dr. Coulter points out, is a Trump defeat at the hands of whoever the Democrat nominee is.

Ms. Coulter, who hates every GOP candidate save Trump[2] (whom she blindly worships as her Savior),[3] should heed Dr. Coulter, who has facts and sound analysis on his side.

But Coulter is emotionally (and financially) invested in Trump.[4] Indeed, she has staked what’s left of her diminishing reputation and career[5] on Trump’s victory. Hence her willingness to sacrifice all of her conservative principles and Christian values[6] to support a bully[7] and a charlatan.[8]

Instead of supporting a genuine conservative (a proven constitutionalist and pro-lifer) like Ted Cruz,[9] Coulter supports a RINO who would betray her on every issue.[10]

A Trump nomination would spell doom for America, Conservatism, and Ann Coulter.

Support Ted Cruz!

An Open Letter to Ann Coulter

Dear Ann:

You are willing to sacrifice all of your conservative principles and Christian beliefs to get Trump elected president, solely on the premise that Trump is the only candidate who is “good on immigration.” You admit that Trump is not a conservative and that he does lie.[1] Is Trump lying on immigration?

OpenLetter

Trump’s record and rhetoric on immigration suggest that he is lying about both the wall and deportation[2] of illegal immigrants.

Trump supported the Gang of Eight bill that you despise.

Trump hired illegal aliens at the expense of American workers.

Trump favors H-1B visas.

Trump would “negotiate” on both the wall and immigration.

Trump seeks touchback deportation to bring them back as quickly as possibleahead of the line: amnesty!

So, having sacrificed every principle and ideal you once held dear, you are supporting the one person you claim is good on immigration, and he is actually the worst on immigration.

If Trump wins the presidency, America gets a liberal similar to Hillary and amnesty![3]

You have sacrificed everything for nothing!

Moreover, you have viciously[4] attacked[5] the one candidate[6] who has a proven record of opposition to amnesty and fought for the preservation of American sovereignty: Ted Cruz![7]

You regard Trump as your and America’s Savior[8] and claim that you would marry Trump if he were available. You exalt Trump[9] above the heavens and absolve him of all his faults.

At the very same time, you demonize an actual conservative who is a strict constitutionalist and devout Christian and, ironically, is the only candidate who would do what you claim you want done about immigration.

Instead, you promote a bully[10] and a charlatan.[11]

If Trump wins the nomination and is victorious in the election, America has you to blame!

But it is not too late! Will you forsake your pride,[12] reverse course, and support the candidate who would actually do what you want to accomplish on immigration and who is also an actual conservative, constitutionalist, and Christian?

What is more important to you, Ann? Your pride or America’s future?

Bully Boy Trump!

The bully, Donald Trump, proved himself just a bloviating boy. In the end, bullies usually do.

David French related two key moments in the Houston debate.

Bull Boy Trump

First, The Donald insisted that Rubio “Be quiet. Just be quiet.” Why? Trump fears the truth, especially about himself.

As French put it, “An alpha male commands respect; a bully tries to rule by fear. But when no one is actually afraid, the bully looks foolish. When the bully demands silence but instead receives a sarcastic retort, he reveals that that his ‘strength’ was a mirage.”

George Will puts it this way: “Like all bullies, Trump is a coward, and like all those who feel the need to boast about being strong and tough, he is neither.”

Second, The Donald insisted that Cruz apologize. Why? Trump wants the truth, especially about himself, to go away. Trump wants to suppress the truth! Intimidation is his primary tactic to achieve that end.

French noted, “Once again, the bully made his demand, this time for an apology. Cruz refused to comply, and went on to make exactly the right point: that Trump would be the Democrats’ best ‘Republican’ friend.”

Rubio correctly characterized Trump as a “con artist,” a truth many have heralded since before Trump launched his presidential campaign. Cruz astutely noted that Trump cares nothing for the Constitution and would be a Barack Obama in whiteface.

As I and others have pointed out before, Trump is a braggart and a bully who holds neither conservative principles nor a Christian ethos. Jonah Goldberg argues, “His cheap macho posturing and boasting is simply tacky.”

Trump is, as Andrew McCarthy describes, “a fraud – a liberal Democrat posing as the Republican savior.” Transfixed by Trump, some people still “blindly worship” him as their “Savior”!

McCarthy outlines, on issue after issue, the fraudulent nature of Trump’s politics, persona, and character.

It is important to stress Trump’s own purported self-image, concocted for the moment, to garner votes. After the Houston debate, he claimed, “I’m a strong Christian.” On another occasion, he claimed, “nobody reads the Bible more than me.” Goldberg noted, “Either Donald Trump believes what he said, or he doesn’t. If he does believe this, he’s sufficiently delusional to disqualify himself for public office. If he doesn’t believe this, he thinks his conservative Christian supporters are morons.”

Trump also alleges, “I’m very conservative,” adding, “I’m the most conservative person in the world” on a host of issues. Even New York Magazine called him out on that one.

But Trump is following in the footsteps of his consigliere, Ann Coulter, who regards herself as both an exemplary conservative and extraordinary Christian. Coulter boasts, “I’m like the conservative ayatollah” and “I’m an extraordinarily good Christian.”

As an example of her good judgment and proof of her conservative and Christian credentials, Coulter said that she would actually marry Trump if he were available. Maybe they should (after his fourth divorce). They are made for each other.

Coulter Admits Trump is a Fraud

Ann Coulter admits that Donald Trump is a FRAUD!

Trump is a Fraud

In yesterday’s column, Coulter wrote, “That’s why it doesn’t matter when Trump pops off and says things that are not conservative orthodoxy – or even true!”

Her very next sentence begins, “Even if you think Trump is a libertine, shallow narcissist …”

So, according to Coulter, Trump is not a conservative, says things that are not “even true” and may well be “a libertine, shallow narcissist.”

(Strikingly, Coulter does not care that Trump’s claims are not “even true,” yet she blindly believes in his empty promises. Devoid of truth herself, Coulter believes what she wants to believe!)

As National Review observes, “Donald Trump is a habitual liar, and the thing about habitual liars is that they lie habitually.” Those selfsame words could easily apply to Coulter, who shares various[1] Trumpian traits of rhetoric and style, narcissism and hubris.[2] Hence, she is smitten with her mirror image (and falling prey to her very own tricks).[3]

Nevertheless, Coulter considers Trump her – and America’s – Savior![4]

Yet another Coulter-backed RINO, a Trump nomination for the GOP or a third-party run would spell doom for Conservatism and America as we once knew it.[5] Coulter knows this and wants this.[6]

Why? It furthers her ambitions to recreate a WASP America.[7]

More importantly, Trump fulfills her fantasy of being the Harriet Beecher Stowe of the New Trump Party.[8]

Trump’s claim to fame is being anti-Establishment. Trump is not anti-Establishment. Trump IS the Establishment. Trump epitomizes corporate cronyism and vulture capitalism.

Trump is about as anti-Establishment as Communist China was anti-Communist during its internecine power struggle with the Soviet Union.

This election has never been a battle between Trump and the Establishment, but rather, it is a power struggle within and among the elites. (Ted Cruz is the real anti-Establishment warrior in this contest!)

Coulter Crazy Over Trump

Unusually delusional even for herself,[1] propagandist Ann Coulter claims that Donald Trump won in Iowa![2]

Coulter Crazy Over Trump

Though Coulter acknowledges that year’s GOP presidential contest is now a three-man race, she claims it is between “Trump, Trump, and Trump.”

Nevertheless, Coulter ruthlessly attacks Rubio for his “high heels” and “big ears,” and calls him a “sweaty little liar.” (So much for taking the high ground.)

Acting as The Donald’s pit-bull, Coulter rejects Cruz’s historic victory as inconsequential and repeats her repeatedly-disproven birther lie[3] in order to derail Cruz’s momentum. Coulter has a long history of lying about the law[4] and fabricating “facts.”[5]

Trump and Coulter, bullies united in a cause.[6] Remember, Coulter has “blind worship[7] for Trump!

It’s no wonder why Coulter has become irrelevant.[8]

Trump’s Path to Defeat

Ted Cruz[1] trounced Donald “I Am A Winner” Trump in Iowa last night. Even Marco Rubio almost routed Trump. The Donald’s inevitability and invincibility proved to be ephemeral narratives. (Donald and Hillary are oh so similar!)[2]

Defeat

It is easy to see Trump’s path to defeat: Iowa – loss to Cruz (and, almost, Rubio); New Hampshire – loss to Rubio (or, perhaps, Cruz); South Carolina – loss to Cruz.(or, perhaps, Rubio); Nevada – loss to Cruz (or, perhaps, Rubio).

What kind of bounces will Cruz and Rubio get from their yuuge victories over Trump in Iowa? (Rubio had a massive expectations victory over the vainglorious Trump.)

How will Trump’s ego-bursting defeat in Iowa change his campaign and message? He will necessarily attack Rubio to court the moderate vote in New Hampshire. (But Cruz still poses a distinct threat to his ascendancy to the throne, er, presidency. A strong showing by Cruz in the “Live Free or Die” State will strike fear in Trump’s heart.)

Trump’s unfamiliarity with Christian beliefs and practices will augur ill in South Carolina.

Even Nevada can become problematic for the “I Am A Winner” candidate if his inevitable victories turn into disastrous defeats.

Will Trump still try to bully his way into the Oval Office?[3] (Can a leopard change its spots?)

We can expect Trump to push the bogus birther hoax[4] whenever he feels threatened by Cruz.

Will Trump supplement his own “hope and change[5] message with specific policy positions? Can he, at this late stage, prove his conservative credentials?[6] Appealing to patriotism is not enough.[7] An understanding of America’s history, our Constitution, our Christian heritage,[8] and the world around us is essential. These Trump lacks.

Trump is only the latest billionaire trying to buy himself into the White House, but the American people are far too smart for him.

How to Talk to a Bully (if you must)

The Donald (Trump, that is) is at it again. This time he plays the victim of a Vast Right-Wing Establishment Conspiracy. (What other traits does he share with Hillary?[1])

Bully

Someone should tell Trump that exhibiting a persecution complex[2] is not particularly appealing for a presidential candidate.

Piqued at sarcasm and hyperbole from Fox News, which so humorously lampooned Trump’s self-evident habit of demonizing his foes (always in a yuuuge way!), Trump revealed just how thin-skinned he really is.

Even his staunchest ally, Ann Coulter, has proven that she is little more than a humorless ideologue. Coulter’s forte is her lightning-quick wit, which balances Trump’s more thundering and blunt-force-trauma brand of humor.

But Coulter, who has perfected the Orwellian technique[3] of carpet-bombing “enemies of the moment,” often with hyperbole and sarcasm, now seems oblivious to the very types of rhetoric which she employs so effortlessly.

Fox News Press Release

What prompted such fear and loathing from Trump and his surrogates?

Fox News issued this press release:

“We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president – a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”

What was Coulter’s response to “the press release an allegedly professional news organization?”

“So when Fox issued a smart-ass press release yesterday, Trump walked. He decided to do a charity event for veterans instead – which will have a lot more viewers than any debate sans Trump.”[4]

Chiding Fox for “such a sophomoric attack” in its “trivial and self-important press release,” the queen of snippy soundbites decries its “snippy press release.”

Speaking on MSNBC, Coulter complained about this “shocking” press release, claiming, “monopolies can get arrogant and there does seem to be a little bit of arrogance here.[5]

Talking to a Bully

Speaking of arrogance (which Coulter and Trump have in spades!), when did narcissism become a virtue? Or brash pomposity? Why do we listen to nattering narcissists and blustering blowhards?[6]

Humility is a trait neither Trump nor Coulter possess. Both refuse to “back down” under any circumstances. Both have proudly claimed they have no need of repentance. Both demonize their foes. And both claim to be victims in the aftermath of their own self-generated controversies.

Coulter has claimed to blindly worship her Savior, Donald Trump,[7] and continually extols his courage, love of country, and sense of humor. But Fox’s humor-laden press release is not funny? Perhaps it hit too close to the mark!

Fox News was spot on! If Trump can’t debate conservatives in a conservative-friendly foreign, how can he stand up to tyrants and terrorists at home and abroad? Trump can dish it out but he can’t take it.

The “allegedly professional news organization,” as Coulter put it, said nothing more controversial than Trump has been saying since he announced his candidacy. Trump’s words (like Coulter’s) are designed to provoke. They are provocative for provocation’s sake (and to generate publicity).

Still, Coulter constantly defends herself and Trump, claiming their most outrageous remarks are “just jokes.” For Coulter and Trump, calling people “bimbos” is standard fare.[8]

Mockery is the best way to talk to a bully![9]

Trump – Phony Candidate!

Neither Coulter nor Trump are above lying to achieve their goals: the bogus birther charge is exhibit one.[10]

Trump and Coulter believe that sheer will to powerdevoid of conservative principles – will lead to their victory and America’s salvation. Hubris saves[11] (in their minds)! But America can ill afford yet another big government, crony capitalist RINO.[12]

Coulter credits herself with giving Trump his message[13] and views herself as the Harriet Beecher Stowe to Trump’s Lincoln.[14] But Trump is no Lincoln (or Reagan) and Coulter is no Stowe.

Trump has proven his aversion to Christian character, conduct, and creed. His authoritarian nature, pronouncements, and promises seem devoid of deference to the Constitution that he would have to swear to uphold. (Isn’t one Obama enough?)

Trump’s flawed financial background (how many bankruptcies?) and New York (liberal social and fiscal) Values should give pause to any conservative contemplating a Trump presidency. He is a political opportunist adept at self-promotion.

At best, Trump’s Christian, conservative, and constitutionalist credentials are sparse. Very sparse indeed.

Trump has nothing in common with the Great Emancipator or the Great Communicator.[15] There is no there, there. Accomplished hucksters need not apply!

Update: After his ignominious defeat in Iowa, a chagrined Trump blamed the Iowa voters for his abysmal performance.

Meet Ann Coulter’s Savior

For Coulter, salvation is always political, not spiritual; temporal, not eternal. For Coulter, pursuing Paradise on earth is preferential to the heavenly one. This has been true for nearly two decades.

Coulter's Savior

Beginning with the 2000 election cycle,[1] Coulter has consistently attacked Christians and pro-lifers, demonized the opponents of her chosen candidates, and sought to subvert the political process to achieve victory.

Apocalypse Now

Coulter loves hyperbole and frequently employs apocalyptic terms. In 2014, she said, “It seems like we’re in the middle of the Democrats’ Thousand Year Reich.”[2]

Keeping with the theme, Coulter asserts, “America is the most consequential nation on Earth … If America falls, it will be a thousand years of darkness for the entire planet.” A thousand years?

Regarding our near future, Coulter argues, “We are talking about the future not only of America but the last genuinely Christian country on earth, and, thus, the world. If we lose America, it is lights out for the entire world for a thousand years!”[3]

Sounds like the future of the planet rests in America’s (not God’s) hands.

Just last week, Coulter chimed in again with her apocalyptic millennial prophesy:

“If America is gone, it’s not just lights out for Americans, it’s lights out for the rest of the world. … When this country is gone, who is going to save these other countries from war lords, from tsunamis, from, from Ebola, from, from, from the Nazis?”[4]

America’s Christian Roots

Surprisingly, in the midst of her Cassandra-like oracle, Coulter said, “This is a powerful Christian country. I would say it is the only genuinely Christian country … the only country with any power that is a genuinely shot through with Christianity from its very founding country on earth.”

America, as Coulter observed, “was not only founded by Christians, it was founded by Protestants.” She added, “The underlying, animating philosophy to this country and to our founding is a Christian worldview.”

Coulter is good at expounding upon America’s Christian heritage[5] but fails to grasp that what America needs most is not a political realignment but a spiritual revival to reclaim America’s roots.[6]

Salvation cannot come by means of political saviors but only through a heartfelt appeal to the Savior of the world.

Yet, Coulter ignores the moral morass and cultural decay prevalent in so much of America and seeks a political, as opposed to moral, solution, saying,

“It is like the fall of Rome but, thank God, and I am not using the Lord’s name in vain, I mean that absolutely literally, thank God for raising up Donald Trump and giving us a chance to save the country.”[7]

Coulter is looking to the wrong savior!

Coulter’s Savior

Trumpeting Trump,[8] Coulter warns, “I think any Republican – other than Trump – would be a disaster [for America].”[9]

Coulter reminisced, “Whoever thought that Donald Trump would be America’s savior?”[10] And, again, “If he ran, I had no idea he would be America’s Savior. … our next president, who’s going to save America.”[11]

Donald Trump is Coulter’s current Savior[12] – and America’s, too. So says Ann, who calls Trump, “my hero, our Savior, the man who’s going to save my world.”[13] (Sorry, Ann, but Jesus is the Savior of my world – and yours!)

Calling Trump, “the greatest candidate for president ever”[14] and “the candidate I’ve been dreaming of,”[15] Coulter astonishingly said, “I totally would [marry Trump if he were single].”[16]

Asked to describe her actual relationship with Trump, Coulter replied, “Blind worship.”

Blind worship? Sounds like a religious experience to me. Coulter amplified her answer, “It’s a little like the North Korean people with their dear, dear leader.” (Trump is really like a crazy, socialist tyrant?)

Ensuring that we all get the spiritual undertone of her remarks, Coulter employs biblical imagery. She introduced Trump at one of his rallies, saying,

“And now I think it’s like Joseph in the Bible. He had to be sold into slavery, imprisoned, betrayed so that eventually he could save the Jews. Maybe Mitt Romney had to lose. And maybe we had to give Republicans one more chance in 2014. And maybe Mitch McConnell and John Boehner had to betray us one more time to pave the way for President Donald Trump. God hasn’t given up on America yet.”[17]

On another occasion, Coulter compared Trump to yet another biblical hero: “and then it all works out and David is the assistant to the king and saves all the Jews.”[18]

Vote Republican! … or Else

Coulter sees Republicans (not necessarily conservatives) as America’s savior.

For many years now, Coulter has insisted that we vote Republican, regardless of either the character or conservative credentials of the candidate. History has proven her wrong. Despite historic gains,[19] Republicans have caved in to the Obama/leftist agenda because far too few Republicans are actually conservative.

Why would that be? In part, because Coulter continually promotes RINOs (even when they are not running!)[20] and attacks true conservatives.[21] Then she is chagrined when RINOs act like RINOs.[22]

Coulter now complains that we should not seek out conservatives because they haven’t done anything!

“Forget conservative. What have the conservatives done for you? What did conservative George Bush do? He nearly destroyed the Party and the country in one swell foop. … He wiped out the Republican Party in the House and the Senate. … How about Mitch McConnell and John Boehner?”[23]

The people Coulter complains about are the ones she supported! Coulter practically worshiped Bush throughout most of his presidency. Now – after the facthe’s the problem? Coulter defended McConnell at every turn, even as conservatives discounted his alleged conservative credentials. (Coulter was wrong!)

Confronted with the claim that they weren’t conservative, Coulter exclaimed, “They’re Republicans! You have to vote for somebody!”

Wow! She still doesn’t get it. Republicans are not necessarily conservatives. Coulter has consistently supported non-conservative Republicans, yet complains when they fail to legislate or govern according to conservative principles.

Blinded by her own unique paradigm, Coulter is alone in her worldview, exclaiming, “In fact, my ideal ticket is Trump-Romney. That’s what I’m really hoping for. That’s the dynamite combo.”[24] (Two RINOs to restore America’s Christian conservative roots?)

Coulter, the Closet Christian

For almost twenty years, Coulter has boasted of being a Christian. She claimed, “I’m a Christian and everything comes from being a Christian,”[25] adding that “Christianity fuels all of my books.”

Why does Christianity fuel all of her books? “because you are called upon to behave in a certain way as a Christian and that is to fight lies, injustice, cruelty, hypocrisy, that fuels everything.” (One could argue that she has been fighting against herself all of these years!)

Then why has Coulter repeatedly vilified[26] Christian missionaries[27] over a period of years[28] and repeatedly attacked[29] pro-lifers[30]for years.[31]

Coulter even refuses to help Christians being martyred[32] in a horrific genocide overseas! For Coulter, political considerations always outweigh the moral and spiritual implications of any situation. Ann Coulter is about as Christian as Barack Obama.[33]

Yet, Coulter insists, “Christianity fuels everything I write”[34] and claims, “I’m an extraordinarily good Christian.”[35]

Just yesterday, Coulter asserted, “You know I’m a big Christian.”[36]

Many Christians live fearfully in the closet, threatened by persecution, torture, and death. Coulter claims to be a Christian. If only her words and actions would come out of the closet and prove her claims!

Let Them Be Martyred!

Ann Coulter has been actively working against the body of Christ in manifold ways for nearly two decades. Now, she would condemn tens of thousands of Middle Eastern Christians to torture and death – for being Christians – simply to promote her own book and her ideas on immigration.

In fact, Coulter would deny refugee status to the very people those laws were designed to protect: people persecuted for their faith. In that respect (as in many others), Coulter emulates Obama, who, likewise, denies refugee status to Christians suffering persecution, indeed, genocide, in the Middle East.

Martyred

Coulter claims that it’s impossible to only give Christian Syrians refugee status and insists, “We’re not letting in the Christian Syrians. We’re cutting it all off.”[1] Coulter falsely claims, “The asylees and the refugees are 100% fraudulent.” 100%? Coulter has examined every case?

Coulter insists that she would not admit Christian refugees who are fleeing persecution.[2] Why? Because, “We are not a battered women’s shelter.” But America’s refugee laws are explicitly and expressly designed to protect people persecuted for their faith.

1) Refuge laws exist to protect people persecuted for their faith; 2) Coulter admits Christians are being persecuted for their faith; 3) Coulter would deny those persecuted Christians protection.

Coulter said, “Needless to say, the mealy-mouthed, midway position of most Republicans is, ‘we’ll only take the Christians.’ Um, no, no, we don’t want the Christians – alleged Christians – for one thing, we have to take care of our own people first.”[3]

Talk about Christian charity!

America’s Refugee Laws

Coulter, who touts her experience and expertise as an attorney, is wrong (again) about the law. Andrew McCarthy recently explained America’s immigration laws and how they require consideration of religion, determining whether people are being persecuted for their faith. He wrote:

“Under the provision governing asylum (section 1158 of Title 8, U.S. Code), an alien applying for admission must establish that … religion [among other things] … was or will be at least one central reason for persecuting the applicant.”

The definition of refugee “(set forth in Section 1101(a)(42)(A) of Title, U.S. Code) also requires the executive branch to take account of the alien’s religion: The term ‘refugee’ means (A) any person who is outside any country of such person’s nationality … and who is unable or unwilling to return to … that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of … religion [among other things] …[.]”

McCarthy observes: “In the case of this war, the Islamic State is undeniably persecuting Christians. It is doing so, moreover, as a matter of doctrine. Even those Christians the Islamic State does not kill, it otherwise persecutes as called for by its construction of sharia (observe, for example, the ongoing rape jihad and sexual slavery).”

John Nolte at Breitbart News notes, “Despite President Obama’s sanctimonious proclamation Monday that America does not have a religious test when it comes to admitting refugees into America, the actual math appears to show the complete opposite is true. According to CNSNews.com, who looked at the data, only 53 Syrian Christian refugees have been allowed into America, compared to 2,098 Syrian Muslims.” The Obama administration is perversely permitted entry to Muslims (who are not undergoing systemic persecution) but denying entry to Christians (who are experiencing genocide).

Christian Persecution / Genocide

Christian genocide in the Middle East is on the rise as Islamists seek to create a global caliphate. The Islamic State has seized large amounts of territory and operates with impunity in many nations. Islamists seek the eradication of Christianity and they do so in the most grotesque manner possible.

Nina Shea, the Center for Religious Freedom, says that Christians have been forsaken and abandoned in Syria and Iraq. Shea recommends viewing “Sing a Little Louder,” a video which cautions against the perils of ignoring genocide.

The Hudson Institute reports that “Christians have been executed by the thousands. Christian women and girls are vulnerable to sexual enslavement. Many of their clergy have been assassinated and their churches and ancient monasteries demolished or desecrated. They have been systematically stripped of all their wealth, and those too elderly or sick to flee ISIS-controlled territory have been forcibly converted to Islam or killed, such as an 80-year-old woman who was burned to death for refusing to abide by ISIS religious rules. Pope Francis pronounced their suffering ‘genocide’ in July.”

“ISIS atrocities against Christians became public in June 2014 when the jihadists stamped Christian homes in Mosul with the red letter N for ‘Nazarene’ and began enforcing its ‘convert or die’ policy.” ISIS pursues that policy with the ruthlessness of the Gestapo.

Breitbart reports: “Christian migrants in German asylum centres are living under persistent threat, with many fearing for their lives as the hardline Sunni majority within the migrant population attempts to enforce Sharia law in their new host nation. The situation is so bad that Christians claim they live like “prisoners” in Germany, and some have even returned to Middle East.”

Reporting last September revealed: “ISIS has already executed thousands of Christians and forced thousands more to flee ancient Christian communities in northeastern Syria and western Iraq, notes the article, adding that the jihadists demand they either convert to Islam, pay an extortionate rate/tax, or face execution, while other Christians are crucified.”

“Christians have reportedly been crucified, beheaded, raped, and forced to convert to Islam by ISIS. All the while, Christian children are being sold into slavery.”

Nolte adds, “there is no question that Syrian Christians have been singled out for the worst kind of persecution under ISIS, including mass beheadings that do not discriminate against innocent women and even small children.”

Open Doors reports that every month, “322 Christians are killed for their faith, 214 churches and Christin properties are destroyed, and 772 forms of violence are committed against Christians.” Iraq and Syria are ranked third and fourth among nations persecuting Christians.

Those are the refugees Coulter callously dismisses as unworthy of aid.

Ann Coulter – Anti-Christian?

For over 16 years, Coulter has attacked Christians for being Christian. Coulter gets upset with Christians who actually live their lives according to their faith.

Coulter has called pro-life Christians “fascists” and “cowards”[4] for pursuing a pro-life agenda.

Coulter has defamed Christians missionaries as “traitors” and publicity hounds[5] for doing humanitarian work and promoting the gospel overseas.

Coulter has charged Christians who oppose the gay agenda[6] with being “phony Christians.”

Coulter asserts that Christians who oppose Trump[7] are bossy, proud, and seeking validation from liberals.

Now, Coulter would watch Christians die by torture and massacre – all in pursuit of her political agenda.

Ann Coulter is about as Christian as Barack Obama.[8]
